Takes a bit to get used to his teaching style. He uses the whiteboard to illustrate his points (instead of organized slides) and deviates from the book at times. Take good notes, do the hw, and be prepared for pop quizzes. He explains things well, but will move on if no one speaks up, so ask questions or use his office hours if you are struggling.

Dr. Narang is wonderful. This course was definitely very challenging and required quite a bit more time than my other courses in order to keep up. It also required much more effort on my part, attending lectures just to be there won't cut it. Very tough on grading, however I think it really is necessary in order to improve.

Sometimes Professor Narang can be hard to understand, but he has really flexible office hours to make up for it. He has a quiz once a week, providing plenty of points in the class, and still grades on a curve. Really good experience, but other students in the class were lost the whole time. I went to office hours once or twice a month and did fine.

This is the hardest class I have ever taken. I am an A student. He doesnt teach for beginners. If you have never taken trig or didnt understand High school trig DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He is a cool guy for people who have a very good understanding of trig already. If you take this class prepare to teach yourself and even that wont be enough.

Hes a horrible teacher. DO NOT TAKE HIM. Far warning, you will fail his class unless you can teach yourself trigonometry. Ive only gotten As all through math courses and he is HORRIBLE. Also, he does not answer questions or teach out of the book. He does NOT use examples when teaching, just expects you to know the material.

Attending every class is essential, most test problems are very close to or identical to problems or theorems done in class. Narang is very helpful outside of class, attend office hours and he will answer or help with every question. Definitely a difficult class and tests often have difficult and/or abstract problems on them.

He will not give you any homework or assignments that will take up your personal/study time, because he wants students to study than do homework. His tests or quizzes have questions that can only be answered if you listened to the lectures, so take good notes. Others told me he was scary, but he is a funny and nice guy. His policy packet is scary.

Professor Narang is super smart and intelligent but he can not teach math at all. His tests are harder than what is learned. He has no guidelines for the tests or even on the final exam. I am not sure why he is even still teaching at UAA. Narang is a difficult math teacher but If you understand math, you should be fine.

I took calc 2, the hardest of the calc, over the summer which was a five week course. Kamal is very passionate in helping us succeed. Tests, quizzes were heavily based on the notes from class and take homes were very helpful in understanding the material. I dont understand how people mistake him, as he only wants the best for his students

His tests are sometimes a bit more difficult than the material he assigns. He does not require homework but you must do it in order to pass the class. If you have difficulty understanding people with accents, his is thick. I needed a lot of studying in order to pass this class.

He has a very old fashioned way of teaching. It is all from the textbook and by using the shotgun approach to teaching, he smothers students in problems. He does this instead of using online tools, resources and materials created specifically for making teaching and learning easier and more effective. (AKA neglecting to figure out WebAssign & such)

He's a very intelligent professor, though his way of teaching is not very organized, in my opinion. The test questions look/are very similar so it was very difficult to figure out which was the correct formula to use (from different sections). He sometimes goes off topic a lot. Overall, he's a challenging teacher, but just do the homework.

I enjoyed having Narang as a teacher. He grades by quizzes and provides homework questions that will help students do well on tests and quizzes. Basically, if you want to do well, you will put in your own effort. I definitely would choose him as a teacher for my next math class!

Narang is an amazing professor, he is not only one of the toughest professors I have ever taken but he mentored my previous high school math teachers. You must absolutely do the homework, take notes, and attend EVERY lecture to pass his class. To study for his tests, I recommend to review all of the notes and homework. Ask for his help it works :)

He goes into information that is not required to be learned in the class and/or used in the class. No calculators are aloud in the class. Expect a take home quiz ever week that has problems that are harder than what you learned in class. All homework is not required to do but is pretty much manditory to do if you want a good grade in class.

Dr. Narang is the best math professor out there. Super smart and witty. If you want to actually learn calculus and work for your grade, he is the man. But beware; his exams are crazy hard. Study, study, study. Keep your phones off and in your pocket he will get mad if you're screwing around. Office hours are great and his willing to help.

I will never forget Professor Kamal. He loves math and inspired me to not be afraid of the pain that comes with trying to grasp difficult concepts. His lectures are concise and he is very explicit about what will be on tests. Tests and quizzes are hard, but math is hard; he just doesn't water it down. No pain, no gain!

He is a very good professor. I feel like I came out of Calculus 2 really knowing my stuff. However, his tests are very difficult and are weekly. He also gives out weekly take home tests (which actually do a good job preparing you for his tests.) But I was third in the class, and after I took the final I ended up getting a C. So it's a toughy.

I enjoyed this class. It was definitely difficult and I had to work for my grade but Professor Narang is a good teacher. He can seem intimidating at times but if you go to his office hours he is very helpful and will often show you how to do the entire problem. Take home quizzes much more difficult than the in class quizzes and midterms.
