Professor Lyde is amazing! His lectures are extremely interesting and hilarious. I am bursting out in laughter in every single class. He really cares for his students success and is very passionate about his subject. He does curse quite often, but never towards anyone. I would ABSOLUTLY take him again. Oh, and he offers ALOT of extra credit

Took Mr. Lyde for Hist1302. Very intelligent and enthusiastic professor. Passionate about history and it shows. Expect to put in effort to get the most from his class. His course taught me a lot and really enriched my education. Not often do we students stumble across great professors, so seize the opportunity! Loved him.

Great teacher who is funny and offers loads of extra credit. To make something other than an A in this class means your not ready for college. Test are pretty straight forward however he doesn't give you a word bank and its fill in the blank. Study at least the night before and you'll make at least a B. With the extra credit, do it, it'll save you

The Man, The God, Professor Lyde. If you have the chance, take his class, He's a maniac. His class is a trip, I can't recommend it enough. You read a book as opposed to a textbook.

Took Hist 1302 last summer with K. Lyde at San Jac and am currently enrolled at UHCL, and I have never had a better history teacher than him. What a fun class, even if you don't like history, he will make you laugh your butt off. Tests are straightforward, you should pass with ease, and should even get a B by going to class. Tons of extra credit A+

BEST teacher by far! His lectures are very intriguing, even for those who don't like history. He puts many details and stories into his lectures that you would never get from a textbook, he really does his research and enjoys teaching. Gives plenty of extra credit. Tests are 50 fill in the blank or 2 short essays. TAKE THIS CLASS YOU WONT REGRET IT

I honestly don't know what the other people are complaining about, clearly they have never taken a truly hard class. "He doesn't give a word bank" LOL. If you're looking for a great class that you'll learn a lot in and also boost your GPA, take this. You don't need the textbook. He's a war expert so that's a big plus. He makes history come alive

Amazing! Only 4 major grades. You have to try to not pass his class to fail. MAJOR EXTRA CREDIT!!!!! Hilarious and can be serious lectures that are either his personal stories or those he has interviewed himself. Very passionate about his job. If you have a problem with cursing, do not take: but it is funny and not over excessive. Would take again.

This class is super easy if you know what you're doing. He gives you everything you need for all the tests on the first day of class. He only has 4 grades and gives a bunch of extra credit. (take advantage of the extra credit)!!!

This man is the BEST history lecturer ever. Very clear, informative and interesting lectures that make the time fly by. unfortunately his grading is ridiculous. He does not provide word banks for test. Also it is ridiculous when you read the reading material TWICE and still fail the exam. Be prepared to study in this class.

Took this professor for spring, lots of reading but more like skimming through the book for key terms. Lets you make up mid term which many professor does not, along with class make up for attendance. one paper assignment, and three exams which are mid-terms, outside reading exam, and the finals. Extra credit is optional but its educational as well

His class was very interesting. I enjoyed listening to his stories, he knows a lot. He's pretty funny too and his exams are either an essay or fill in the blank. I did not use the text book at all. The fill in the blanks can be challenging, but if you studied the terms he gives you, you will be okay. I wish I could take him again. :)

This man knows so much about history it's crazy. Class is more like story time than learning test material. YOU NEED THE TEXTBOOK. There was 4 grades, but tons of extra credit. His essay tests are easier than the multiple choice. Better than the other history teachers I heard.

Professor Lyde was the absolute best history teacher I have ever had. He made history fun and interesting for me. He is constantly cracking jokes and you are guaranteed not to fall asleep

A lot of listening to his life stories and experiences. A very entertaining and funny guy. Only a few major grades and several extra credit opportunities. Did not use a textbook and got a B with an average amount of effort.
