Comment:
He is extremely rude and a terrible professor. If you have any hopes of receiving a c- at least you must sit in his office hours at least 2 times a week and humor him. During class he just rambles about whatever he feels like and throws pity parties for himself. AVOID HIM AT ALL COST IF YOU DONT PLAN REPEATING THIS COURSE.

If you want to be a serious journalist than take this class. He doesn't play games. If your writing is bad or you can't commit to the long hours he demands, then take another professor. He's tough, but he's the best professor in the journalism department. If he likes you he'll put you on to internships too.

Kaggwa is the best Reporting and Writing teacher at Howard. He expects a lot, but if you work and ask for help, he will make you a journalist. If he likes you and you try in his class he will recommend you for internships and opportunities.

Dr. Kaggwa is like the father of many journalists out there. He can be tough, but he's a very nice man who helped prepare me for the world of pro journalism. One of my favorite four professors at Howard - and that's saying a lot.

Kaggwa is the best reporting and writing professor however his class requires a lot of time and patience. Try not to get all in your feelings about your grades just go and talk to him and he'll help you.

Kaggwa is one of the best teacher Howard's journalism department has to offer. People fail because they don't do the work. Report and Write and you'll get an A. It's that simple.

The only problem I have is his approach and lack of consideration for the student schedule. For this class to have a high success rate then every student would need to take it over the summer. And you spend more than an hour of your time with him while he criticizes young people. No doubt you can get an A, you just have to put in the time.

I dropped this class with the hopes of someone else teaching it but of course the university has only this one unmoving professor teaching it again. He thinks the world revolves around his class and really doesn't care what else you have going on. Bad use of class time, unreachable standards, never met anyone that made higher than a C

He is an awful teacher and the system at Howard University makes it so that he is the only person teaching the class in the whole university. He does not use class time usfully, is unclear about what he wants, and is lazy and does not properly grade. It is clear that he has been here for so long that they cant fire him even though he should be.

DO NOT TAKE KAGGWA!!!! For the sake of your GPA, your sanity, and your life! He is crazy. He expects too much and he acts as if his class is the only one at howard. It's NOT worth your time, take another Reporting and Writing class. I had to change my minor because of him. I got an F after submitting 12 articles that weren't good enough for him.

Kaggwa is a great journalist but not a teacher He is clear about how many articles he wants however, he has no structure in the class. I learned more from writing for the Hilltop than taking his class.I will consult him if I need help outside of his class. For the record, I have to retake the class because of his unmastered skills as a teacher.

This is wuz up: 1. you have to publish 25 articles 2. He doesn't take crap. 3. He will help you turn crap into butter. 4. IF you can't swim in Kaggwa's class, you can count on sinking in your career. He's not one of those teachers who tries to make things hard and is unmoveable. He wants you to succeed and offers you ANY and EVERYTHING to ensure th

Ummmm....where do i begin...let me first say he definitely knows what he's talking about...but his expectations are above and beyond (reachable)depending on your work/class load [end result does help if you produce good stories]...and the class lacks structure for many that is good but for me i need a little.

Working now as a professional journalist, I can say that his class made me. If I hadn't been challenged, I wouldn't have the knowledge and skills that I have now. If you are a print or BJ you should WANT to take Kaggwa. So what if it's a little difficult? Every thing can't be easy and it will only make you a better journalist.

This fool is off the HOOK. Gave me a D when I came to class everyday and turned everything in. I got an A in the same class with another professor turning in the exact same work. But he seems to have a good heart, he's just super hard.

Kaggwa's class is going to be whatever YOU make of it-but you must do the work.He requires an article every week, there are NO tests NO quizzes. You pick your own article topics and you have to get them published. My writing improved greatly in his class.
