Lee Imonen genuinely cares about his students and wants to help them succeed. He goes out of his way to help students get access to the art materials they need, and he does a good job of providing instructional videos that explain art projects. He also provides great feedback on homework.

Lee is one of the best instructors I've had at LCC. I took the welding sculpture class with him in the winter and he was very attentive when it came to helping me out understand tool usage, materials, and technique. He explains instruction clearly and doesn't mind going over it with you one on one if you forget or need clarity. He's great.

I've had some lame art teachers and I'm happy to say Lee isn't one of them. He genuinely wants to help you improve and encourages students to reach out to him for guidance and general advice. He's a fair grader, just do your best and complete the assignments and you'll pass, no problem. My only real issue is his classes are quite long, about 3hours

Lee was truly inspiring and I'm so glad I took him for this Introduction to Drawing class. He helped everyone out so much and genuinely wanted to see you succeed and improve in your work. 10/10 would take again!

I had always enjoyed art classes up until this point. I took beginning sculpture with Lee and soon found myself spending more time in this class than my other 12 credits combined. Some weeks I would spend over 15 hours in the art studio trying to keep up, which made the class very tiring. Far too much work if you have a full schedule.

Lee is a very talented teacher, & a master at encouraging students of any skill level. My only issue with him is he prefers art of a certain style. You might butt heads with him if you have a preferred style that doesn't quite match up with his tastes. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend him for beginning drawing students!

Lee is a phenominal artist and art professor. I would recommend his courses to absolutely everyone. He extracts creativity out of each student. He's not a "hard-core" teacher, in the sense of strictness. But he does demand to see that you're pushing yourself. His insight is outstanding. He's positively cream of the crop.

after the first day of class, i could tell that this was a person possessed by a deep artistic madness. you know that brilliant type of madness that is shared among the greats, like Bernini, Berishnakov, or even Jesus. It radiated from his sad, subltle eyes, and it transformed me. much reccomended, (plus, he's easy on the eyes...) great class!!!
