I was really looking forward to taking genetics, but regret taking this course with Marston. I had to teach myself the material. She gave opportunities to ask questions, but talked over students/completely ignored ?s in the Zoom chat. She expects you to know everything on the quiz even though it wasn't taught. harsh grader and not understanding

Comment:

I go back and forth with Marston. Overall, she's a very nice lady. But as a teacher, something is lacking. She also seems very bitter about not winning a nobel prize? Tests are semi easy to get a good grade on, but she is a hard grader. You need to have to have the answer precisely or excessive points will get docked.

I loved her and her class. She is very enthusiastic when she teaches which makes her lectures less boring. She is very clear with her grading and the material that will be tested. Gives study guides and the previous year's quizzes/exams so you know exactly what to expect. LOVE her

Comment:

I am really interested in genetics but Dr. Marston made this course nearly impossible. Her grading is so inconsistent and she is rarely clear with directions. Lab is interesting and I enjoy the topic but even if I study a lot she takes off points without reason. She is a nice lady and available to help. I will not take her class in the future.

Good teacher, but shows slides multiple times through the week and overloads students, tests are very hard, studying for more than one night is a must. Shes open to questions and is very enthusiastic, but still a difficult teacher

loved this class... she is so intersested in bio that she sometimes jumps around the room... not strict w/ attendance AT ALL... but you won't wanna miss this class bc it's actually fun... you do have to work hard to excel on the tests... available for help... overall, one of the best teachers ive had... recommended w/o a doubt

very energetic teacher, always smiling during class, and she makes ya laugh. She loves her research and talks about it a lot during class. Takes off a lot of points on tests for wrong answers, but she gives you what to study for. Just prepare really well and you should do fine. I loved her class!

She's a wonderful teacher! My favorite professor on campus! She's a hard teacher, but easy to talk to and willing to help everyone! Very energetic and LOVES what she does!
