Take her class! Easy A. She let us out early most of the time and is very flexible when assignments are due. She lets you turn in the homework up to 3 weeks late and you can still get full credit. Shes very understanding and willing to help with anything even if its not related to her class. Very sweet. You wont regret taking her class.

Professor Carrillo is amazing at what she does. She truly cares about her students as long as you are a hard worker in her class. She does give a lot of homework and lab time is a requirement. It does consume a lot of your time. The only thing that I noticed is she can give a little attitude and be be grumpy at times. Otherwise take her class.

One of the best professors working at palomar! Melinda is firm but super chill!!! Gives enough time for homework but be ready to read. Clear grading criteria. Your grade heavily depends on how much effort you're willing to put in but overall easy A. Defintiely helps you grow as a reader. Definitely recommend her.!! :)

Melina Carrillo is awesome! Took her for both 49 & 51. Most caring teacher Ive had. Requires 50+hrs of lab assignments which are honestly easier than it sounds, 4 book reports on any books youd like. And a bunch of EC is always available. Shes the best! Take her you wont regret it!!! Term tests are not for grade only for extra credit. TAKE HER!

Melinda Carrillo is an amazing teacher. She truly wants you to do well in not only her class but in school. Her class is easy and enjoyable if you make it. Homework is fairly easy. You are required to do 56 hours in lab which is a piece of cake for fall or spring. Lab isn't too hard and her tests are mostly open notes. Final is a repeat test too.

Melinda is an amazing professor and person. She wants you to learn and not to fool around. She is strict, and caring. She is always willing to help you, if you don't understand something. Attendance is mandatory, but you would not regret it, you would learn something new each day with her. Be ready to read a lot.

Professor Carrillo is spectacular, aside from being a director in her expertise. She gives good feedback and is strict. She always knows if you're cheating or not, so do not cheat. Why would you cheat, though? I learned so much and showed great growth because of her. If you do well in this class, I guarantee that you will do well in your other classes. Do not slack off! Even though she gives small amounts of homework, do them because you are going to need time to memorize some terminology for the quizzes she provides. I would recommend to start reading a book before taking her class because there will be book reports-- 5 in total. Also, at the beginning of class, she has everyone take a test-- just a heads up. There is extra credit she gives, but they are geared towards LAB hours. Take her for READ110, you will not regret it!

Okay this is a 4 unit class so theres some work but she gives you a ton of time to get it done so its super easy. Lab sucks but it comes with the reading class so whatever. I dislike school and homework lol but i would recommend her. Quizzes aren't graded but extra credit and tests aren't either you just have to show growth which is easy. TAKE HER

Mrs. Carrillo is the BEST professor that I have taken. She is inspirational, always encourages her students to do good not only in her class but in anything that will help you be successful. I definitely learned alot in her reading class and improved my reading skills. Amazing professor I will recommend anyone to take her reading class.

Prof. Carrillo is an amazing instructor. She was chairman of the school's board when I was her student, and is gladly a source for advice on ANY college questions. Seriously. Doesn't really grade assignments, just checks them to see if you completed it, and gives constructive comments. Lab hours are a MUST. Really cares about you and school.

One of my favorite professors at Palomar. I have taken every class that Melinda teachers and have loved all of them. Truly cares for her students and goes the extra mile to help. My life has changed for the m better. I was able to raise my reading and vocab level by five grades. Since transferring to CSUSM I have Melinda to thank for my success.
