Comment:

Professor McCandless is so much fun! This is an interactive class that requires lots of participation and working in groups, so you'll get to know your classmates. Two written assignments, which he grades very forgivingly, and two acting assignments. One multiple choice test. Also extra credit for attending a play somewhere in Omaha. Hilarious man!

Comment:

McCandless is a great "in" to the Creighton Theatre Department. His class was easy and as long as you do the few scenes and participate he is helpful and kind. As a Theater major, I wouldn't say I learned a lot about theatre from his class but it was fun and easy!

Comment:

Michael's my favorite. He loves what he does and inspires me to be better. Performance Theatre is my major, so I didn't learn a lot from an Intro Acting class, but he nevertheless is passionate about what he does and is always very willing to help. "Tests" include one scene, one vocab test, two play reviews and one monologue.

One of my favorite classes at Creighton. A class that you think would be a joke actually isn't, but in a good way. He makes every class fun and is very good at teaching what he does. I learned a lot and had a blast. TAKE HIM.

Comment:

A good class overall. Most of the class consists of acting exercises and group activities. He's helpful but sometimes he can be a bit abrasive personality-wise. One monologue, one dialogue, a vocab test, and two play reviews are the tests for this class.

This is a pretty easy class. McCandless generally makes things fun. (You learn Tai Chi.) On the syllabus we were scheduled for three memorized pieces (one group scene, one duet, and one monologue) but ended up cutting out the duet due to time. We attended two local shows and wrote short critiques. A couple quizzes. Fun, easy course.

Acting One was amazing with McCandless. He was one of my favorite professors last semester and still is. You have multiple assignments, three papers, a written mid-term (really easy) and a monologue as your final. Also, you have a group scene grade, and a duo scene grade. Its not only a fun class, but a good way to meet your classmates. Take this!

One of the best professors I've had at Creighton. Loves the subject he teaches and it shows. Mixes class up so it's not always lectures. Easy to talk to about anything, class or non class related. Open and understanding about extensions if you ask for them. Took my interest in theatre to a whole new level.

He is very fun, and really enjoys what he is doing. He says in his syllabus, " Have fun, I mean it, if you are not come and see me!" He is very knowledgable about his subject, and I find that I don't want him to stop talking because what he lectures about is very interesting. Take him, you will have fun.
