Professor Parker needs to retire already. He's been teaching at the academy for almost 40 years, and he is one of those old washed up tenured profs you have at civilian schools, I didn't think I'd have to deal with here. INCREDIBLY unreasonable amounts of reading, almost double the number of papers in other classes, and overall a waste of my time.

Comment:

You'll have good discussions in his class and enjoy yourself with him, he's an awesome guy. Meets with all his students in his office and really cares for you. However, his classes are not easy. Expect 4 papers, quizzes often on a ton of reading, and don't expect easy grading. He makes you work for the A if you want it. Most are going to get Bs.

He's really invested in his students and their progress and is always available to look over essays before you turn them in. Minimum of 20 pages a night with a quiz. Five essays from 2-8 pages in length. Lots of class discussion. Beware of having your own opinion because if it's not his opinion it's wrong.

Professor Parker is a good professor that seems to really care about his students and is willing to help out. He does assign quite a bit of reading to do later on in the semester, but the quizzes aren't too hard. I think I had about five four page essays throughout this semester. Most of his class consists of interpreting we read.

Professor Parker is a solid prof. The workload is heavy for a basic english class. Expect 60 pages of reading a night and lots of quizzes on the reading. There's only 4 pages throughout the semester which he grades very fairly on. Class discussions can be boring, but if you do the reading you're guaranteed at least a B.

He assigns a LOT of reading. Basically 50 pages every class. There are short quizzes almost every single class on the reading, so there's no getting out of the reading. The class itself is all discussion based. Essays are assigned every 3 weeks, but there are no exams at all.

Prof. Parker is a fascinating teacher. His class is very challenging--he never gives As at 6- or 12-weeks, but consistently good papers will earn you one at the end. He gives an entire page of feedback on papers and is enormously conscientious about giving advice. Take his class if you want a challenging and rewarding course

Prof Parker is great! Loves in-class discussions regarding assigned readings. Usually gives short quiz over material read for homework. Assigned 5 essays throughout the semester that varied on topics. Tough grader on essays, but gives lots of useful feedback. He is willing to help on essays if you schedule appointments with him. No Final Exam/Essay

Don't listen to these other comments. His class is very dry and seeing him for E.I. isn't worth the B. His quizzes are ridiculous even if you read. Grades and class discussions are based purely on opinion. He does bring food to class sometimes and is knowledgeable about English. He is also a bit fruity.

Professor Parker is a great professor and is very knowledgeable. He is a kind man, and always willing to help you with your papers. If you make the effort his class will be worth your while, even if you are skeptical about the subject material going in to the class. Just get into the material and you'll do well.

Great teacher, you read alot in his class and write a fair amount of papers... but if you like english and enjoy acting out plays and discussing he's definitely a good choice. No tests, just lots of reading quizes which can eaither hurt or help you depending on if you read or not. Never a dull class though.
