Comment:
I had Dr. Morvillo for lab, and she was very enthusiastic, but not always the most polite. It was very difficult to get good grades on the assignments, because she didn't really outline what she was looking for when writing hypotheses and stuff. She also wasn't the most helpful when it came to looking for help, and wasn't any clearer in office hrs

I had her for an 8am Monday mornings and she was always ready to teach and very enthusiastic about whatever she was teaching that day. Make sure to read the textbook before lecture and she can go a bit fast.

Class is very difficult. You will struggle on the test. do not fall behind, if you do, you will never catch up. Morvillo is better at teaching higher level classes, just not first level. She loves Bio and wants you to be amazed. Try to always say "wow" when she shows you a video.

She is not a good professor. She expects students to be at her knowledge level. She doesn't teach so you kind of have to teach yourself. Her exams are ridiculous. The way she words questions is very difficult. You don't know what she is asking for. I would not recommend her.

Comment:
Morvillo is a caring professor and she cares about her student's success, however she has very high expectations that seem unrealistic for first year students. She also is very text book reliant which isn't fair to those who do not learn this way, and she refuses to change her teaching method even after surveying her students & getting feedback.

Yes, college students should be expected to have a high level of responsibility - however she treats her freshman as if they were in a doctorate program. if you can't teach yourself through reading (which isn't what we pay tuition for)Then don't take this class. Also her exams are 60% of your grade so if you're bad at tests its impossible to pass.

Bio 1500 was the most difficult class I've ever taken. Tons of homework in both the lecture and lab. Expect to be writing just as much as you do in English. This class should be 8 credit hours. If you did take Ap bio in high school and got a 3 or higher then you still will have to work for an A.

She's the worst I had her for a lab and she grades papers so tough even when you put lots of time and effort in, I barely passed her class and I always did work to the best of my ability. She's terrible, such an unfair grader, not to mention she's mean, scary and a horrible teacher/person in general

She expects you to be on her level on intelligence and even if you are she doesnt treat you like you are. She talks down to everyone assuming you are at freshman entry level. She is an extremely hard grader and doesnt give grades based on work, she gives them based on what she thinks you deserve. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS with her. Awful teaching style

Very hard class, had to teach myself. There is a quiz on the reading at the beginning of every class. Tests were difficult and at a harder level than what she taught at. She does give you a chance to get extra credit by coming to office hours though.

Comment:
She is rarely (if ever) available outside of class and is very unprofessional in her grading and feedback. There is no rational to her grading of exams and she can rarely provide relevant feedback or explanation for the grade on a project, which is strictly based off her personal understanding of a subject and not supporting research or articles.

Demeaning. No matter if you're sick or need to be absent for family reasons, you can't make up work including quizzes (that she never specifies what days they are on). So 5/5 if we're rating heartlessness. Way too much work, expects you to grasp material with slim lecturing. Led me to change majors solely because she made me hate every second of it

Dr. Morvillo is awesome. Her tests are hard but she's very clear about what's expected and how to get a good grade. She has homework for every chapter, but she only grades it for completion. Genetics is a tough course but Morvillo makes it fun (:

Makes a relatively hard class fun and easy to follow along. Always willing to help out students, and makes herself available. Definitely would not have as good of a grade in her class if someone else was teaching it. She has a quirky sense of humor that always makes the class interesting. Favorite teacher!

Dr. Morvillo is the best. I would take every class with her if I could. She is hilarious and very enthusiastic. She wants to help students learn and be successful. If you have the chance, take a class with Dr. M! You won't regret it.

Goes to fast and doesn''t slow down. Kinda condescending if you ask questions. Would not recommend unless you have strong background from high school in biology.
