Comment:

One of the most condescending professors at Miami. She rolls her eyes when students don't understand, and she doesn't grade on participation but gets mad when no one volunteers. The class is fairly easy, but be prepared to teach yourself the material.

Paula might as well be a patron saint of calculus. She explains notes very well and will go over any questions you have.Just don't skip class because she has no mercy for that. The way she explains sections is very in depth and helpful. Luv dis girl.

Mean. Lack of explanations on what she's teaching, just teaches by example. Mean. Exams are unnecessarily difficult and encompass problems never encountered in class. The HW helps with your grade, but not with the exams because it's so much easier. Depressing course, especially since it's 5 days a week.

Paula is pretty bland and is an alright teacher. Took the class as a senior who hadn't taken math since HS and I was never amazing at math. If you come to class and study a little you will get an A. 2 points for coming to class each day (or 2 off for missing). 3 exams & comprehensive final. Homework assignment due each class.

Awful. Teaches by example rather then actually teaching how it works. This would be fine if the examples were like the homework but they aren't. Rude to students, not helpful at all, not very understanding either. Tests are hard and homework every day 5 days a week.

Byrkett is a horrible teacher. I missed maybe 4 classes total of the semester and ended up with a horrible grade somehow (she does not show you your grade until the end of the semester). She is unwilling to help and often rude to students when questions are asked. I would do your research and definitely think twice about taking her class.

A lot of HW but it pays off on the tests. You might hate her at first but at the end you'll come to find everything she made you do only helped you learn the material. Great teacher. PS Exams are NOT departmental

Paula is one of the better MTH 151 teachers. I had a grad student last semester and did not learn anything, however I learned a lot about Calculus through Paula.

This teacher teaches directly from the book. The exams are departmental so they are similar to the practice exams she gives you before each test. I struggled on her tests unless I did each problem from the book and from the practice tests and went to the review sessions. Her office hours are worthless. Take advantage of the review sessions.

she's very kind. She's easy to understand but only if your ok learning from examples. She gives nightly homework, either written or on webassign. Her practice exams are very much like her actual exams. She's the best prof if you've already taken calc in high school.

She knows her material, but her notes can be confusing. She could have approached some concepts a lot better and easier. If you have never taken Calculus before, get another teacher. Her exams are so much harder than practice exams. Homework is graded on correctness, not effort.

class can be boring. nice lady. homework every night. sometimes shes collects sometimes she doesn't. homework is easy points. tests were very difficult and didn't get much partial credit on problems on the exams. if you've never taken calculus in high school before, i would advise another teacher. if u have, then she is excellent.

She was an absolutly fantastic teacher. Doing the homework really helps you learn the concepts and you should defintly take advantage of asking questions while going over the homework in class. Very straight foward. If you do whats expected of you will do great!I actually enjoyed the class!

Refuses to use Blackboard. Very clear and good at explaining difficult concepts, but expects you to put in more than an hour a night just to stay with the class. If you don't like being taught by examples, she's not the professor for you.
