Comment:

Really doesnt seem to know what shes doing. She pronounces many words incorrectly and forgets the simplest things, then shrugs it off, saying she just knows too much. She also doesnt know how to grade her own tests. Ive had multiple test questions graded incorrectly, then I have to teach her the material to tell her I got the question right.

Definitely be prepared to work hard for this class. She is a tough grader. However, she will make sure to help you out and get you to understand concepts as long as youre not afraid to ask.

Comment:

Simply reading off of a PowerPoint does not mean teaching. Mix that with creating test questions that could be one of two options or questions that she mentioned briefly in class but never really talked about and you get dr. Carleton. Also she claims she wants you to read but then never takes questions from the book so dont waste your time.

Awful. Rude professor who tries to weed out students the first week of class. If you dont do well on the first exam, she includes with your graded test, a withdrawal form.

One of the most boring lecturers that I have ever had. I had to fight to stay awake in class to end up just having to learn it on my own time. Her tests are alright, but one question is always all are nothing so it's really easy to mess up. I think she means well and cares, but I couldn't get through her lectures.

Comment:

She is one of the best teachers for BIO 202, and I would heavily recommend her. She may seem harsh and strict at first, but she's a fantastic teacher and she loves to see you learn. Ask her to watch insect wars and videos of the gyrocopter!!

I did not like this woman at all. She was not very clear as to what she wanted on tests and I could not understand how to study for her class, so that made it worse. She was a very boring lecturer and I had to fight to stay awake and listen to her. I think I may be dumb, but she did not workout for me. I would not take her unless you don't care.

I love her teaching, she's one of the best Biology Professors. She'll go the extra mile for you if she sees you really love Biology

Powerpoints always uploaded online before the lecture. I found this helpful so I could follow along during class on my own device. Take advantage of office hours. She is very willing to help, will explain anything you have questions on, and work with you until you get it. Not many grades aside from tests in lecture.

I adore her. I have her for lab and lecture, and she may be a tough grader but she is a great teacher. She is very thorough and she is sure to answer all of your questions. She is also unintentionally funny, so that's a perk. Her class can seem like a bit of a drag, but what can you really expect from an intro Bio class.

I had her for lecture and lab. I thought I was going to HATE her class. BY the end, I really enjoyed the way that she taught. She cares about her students and honestly wants to see you do your best. She loves questions and does her very best to answer them fully. I enjoyed her so much, I'm taking her BIO 202 next semester.

If you are taking Dr. Carleton's class, you will be taught the material well. However, she gives unreasonably difficult exams. Dr. Carleton knows her stuff, but her class is the hardest BIO111 class of any other professor. Attendance is mandatory and the exams are more difficult than other BIO111 classes. She is super approachable and wants to help

Dr. Carleton has a bit of a rep as a tough grader, but she makes her expectations clear and is generally very fair. Awesome lectures, and he is great about clarifying concepts both during and after class. Took her for Bio 111, and will be taking her again!

Comment:

Carleton is the best professor for Zoology at Berry. She has a dry humor that is engaging during lecture, and is by far the most capable in lab. You will learn a lot in her lab and lecture. The class is a lot of material and will require decent studying, but she is willing to help and definitely covers it properly. You will leave the class smarter.

I had her for 111 and it was super easy, but 202 is another story. She has a bad habit of making test with many errors (multiple choice questions where none of them are right, ect). Don't get me wrong, she is a wonderful person, take her for 111 if you can! But, I wouldn't advise her for 202.
