Comment:

Prof Hill is by far the most amazing professor I have had. An absolute genius on economics. Take 202 with him if you can. Huge extra credit for attendance. Hard class, easy A if you show up and do work outside of class. Buy the book and read the chapters, I swear you will learn so much. Definitely one of the best professors at CMU.

Comment:

I thought Dr. Hill did a good job of making a difficult class more interesting. He tells a lot of stories that help you remember things and he knows the topic very well. He offered extra credit for attending classes, and at the end he drops your lowest test and lowest quiz. If you show up to class and study on your own time, you should pass.

So here's the deal, all of the reviews left were either written by him or his wife, they're complete lies. I've never gotten a grade below a B and I am striving for a D- right now. I've never missed a class and I take notes each class. I had a tutor and an academic advisor helping. Extremellyyyy hard and AVOID AT ALL COST!

Dr. Hill provided lecture notes for us to follow along with. He also give quite a lot of points for participation. His exam and quizzes are not very easy, a lot of studying have to go into getting a good grade.

Comment:

Dr. Hill has been one of my favorite professors by far since I've been at CMU. Though the concepts & content of this course are really hard to understand sometimes Dr. Hill was incredibly helpful, especially if you go to his office hours! I would not have done as well as I did without going to his office hours. He's also a very nice and funny guy.

Very smart guy and the class is very interesting however it's lecturing so avoid taking at 8 am like me if you can. Material is kind of hard but he is very willing to help. Do the exam study guides and do them well and show up to class and you should get an A. Gives like 40 to 50 points for not missing a class.

Mr. Hill is a very nice guy and very funny. he has practice quizzes and exams for every quiz and exam that you will take. he's passionate about the subject. just do the practice quizzes and exams and you should be fine

Great Teacher, I love the analogies he uses. Definitely relates to students. Lectures are enjoyable, quizzes are decently easy, he definitely helps you prepare, but the exams are hard, which he has created exam reviews which have helped a lot. Great class, take him, no doubt.

By far, the best Econ professor I've ever had. He's been doing this a while, and he knows what gets students to really understand the material. The material still isn't very easy, but his explanations and examples make things as clear as possible. Absolutely, 100%, take this professor.

Comment:

Very smart man. Understands the material extremely well but puts it in students perspective. Exams are pretty tough, but if you don't miss any classes, he gives 40 bonus points. So if you get a 60% on a quiz, essentially it's like getting a 100%. Nice guy, doesn't really call on anybody unless you have a question or are messing around. Take him.

Dr. Hill is a really great prof. He has so many random stories to help relate micro topics to real life. Gotta love that slight kentucky accent too. Economics in general is pretty difficult for some to understand. but as long as you go to class, and do the old quizzes that he posts you should be perf!! he drops at least the lowest quiz too.

Very interesting class. Dr. Hill is very knowledgeable and understands the world of sport economics. All exam questions are on the review sheet so study that early and often. Pay attention in class and go to class cuz you get extra credit if you go to all sessions. All notes are available on blackboard. 3 easy projects. You'll like this class

This teacher was awsome. He knows how to teach the subject well. He is also very funney. The tests and quizes are hard tho, but he gives examples of tests on blackboard. He also gives enough extra credit to equal a quiz grade. And he throws out the lowest test and quiz grade.

Great professor, probably the best I have had in my 2 years at college. The class isnt super easy, but he puts up old quizzes and exams on blackboard, with the answers. For exams he will take about 10 questions off the practice one, and put t on the actual exams. Also lets you ask him specific questions, before class on test day. Hes pretty funny
