Comment:

Dr. Hodel is an extremely helpful professor who wants you to do well in his class. He teaches directly from the coursepack, which he wrote, so there is not much need to take notes in class. He grades leniently. On the negative side, his classes extremely slow/dull. Very methodical though. Super helpful.

He's a good teacher, but class was pretty boring. He lectured directly out of the book, which made attending class mostly useless. I had heard great things about him, but didn't really see it so much from class. Extremely helpful + easy going. Doesn't give lower than a C. No one fails if they try hard.

GREAT teacher, but sometimes hard to hear because he doesn't project very well. Makes mistakes when writing on the board at least once a lesson (uses wrong variable, adds incorrectly, etc.), but definitely knows what he's talking about.

He's amazing. Did I say amazing? I meant awesome. The best. He's super clear in class, and if you have any other questions or just want review, he's very helpful outside of class. He also accepts waitlists usually.

I love Dr. Hodel! Made a potentially hard class completely understandable. Amazingly organized. Cares about the students a ton. It's worth waiting to take Math 103 until your sophomore year just to have him . . . do whatever it takes to get him.

I wish I could call him grandpa. A kind old man who <gasp> wants you to learn at whatever level you're willing to go. I feel like I learned more in his class than I'd learn in mosts and that I was choosing my grade. SACRIFICE YOUR FIRST BORN FOR HIM
