Comment:

Best professor I've ever had at EMU. Lectures are straight to the point but are very interesting. Canvas is very organized and easy to follow. He gives you so much feedback on assignments and really cares about his student's success! Would 100% recommend!

Comment:

Prof. Orrange is by far my favorite professor at EMU. I've had him for multiple classes and while his lectures do tend to draw on and on he is extremely interesting to listen to. Even though I never had a real interest in the topics he was teaching, his personality when he teaches makes the class worth it. Definitely recommend!!

Dr. Orrange is an amazing prof! He is super friendly and passionate about what he teaches! His lectures are long and he can get off topic but he has lots of interesting points to make. He is caring about his students and never makes you feel stupid when answering his questions. For 400 level classes, they have not been hard with him. Take him!

very nice guy, he works with you and wants you to succeed. no textbook. attendance for extra credit. class was just not for me. i struggled. typical powerpoint lectures but it was just way too deep. You really had to focus all the time to do well. Class was extremely boring. i did not learn much and just tried to understand it enoughto pass

Dr. Orrange is a great guy! This class was fairly easy. If you pay attention to the lectures, and study, it is not hard to pass. No homework ever. No book. Dr. Orrange tends to go off on rants a lot, but he cares about his students you can tell. Normally there are 4 tests and a paper, but my class only had 3 tests because of snow days.

Dr. Orrange is very educated in his specialty and it shows through in his courses. His lectures may be very heavy and boring at times, but he only wants his students to succeed. With two very short essays and three exams, minimal effort is required to do well in his class.

Dr. Orrange is the sweetest guy who loves his topic! The class is lecture heavy and you will get the chance to do an optional extra credit paper at the end. The exams offer essay questions so beware of that.

Professor Orrange was awesome. I took him for complex orgo and was slightly nervous because I heard the class was hard, but he was great. as long as you payed attention to the lectures, you will pass the test no issue. He is super enthusiasitc about his lectures. Great guy, great class

Comment:

Orrange is super passionate. Sure, he can be a little boring sometimes, but in the end you can tell that he's really excited to share what he knows with you. Treats us like adults and attendance points count for extra credit on the exams. Just a really great guy who knows a lot of interesting material. Don't by the book, though. I never used it.

Exams were multiple choice and T/F with some essays questions as well. Gives you a copy of the powerpoint's for each sections. Gives a study guide before the exam. Knowledgable, but for me it was a boring class.

The content of the class is very heavy and hard to pay attention to. It helps that Dr. Orrange is so passionate about what he teaches. He's a great professor and an awesome guy. We had quizzes about every other week, 2 papers (supposed to be 3), and a final research paper. Takes attendance every day.

Robert Orrange is a very nice professor and he seems that he loves what he is doing. Class has tests, 3 short essay assignments, and a term paper. Robert lectures off the powerpoints. Which many of the course material for this class is very dull and boring which makes it hard to stay on track. Material is difficult so that makes the tests hard

He is a great professor and I would take him every chance I had. Very nice and helpful. Attendance counts for extra credit on exams. If your study for the exams you will do fine. He is extremely knowledgeable in his subjects.

Great professor, obviously loves what he teaches. He'll clarify anything you have questions about. He prints out the powerpoints for you. The packet for the class was $80 from SC bookstore. The class was graded on 3 exams and 1 term paper. Attending class gets you bonus points on exams.

I really like Rob Orrange. He knows a ton about what he's talking about, and though he does a lot of digressions, they are often really helpful to understanding the topics. Lectures can get dull, but the class was three hours so it's hard to NOT let it get boring at times. Nice guy, wants to see you succeed, willing to work with people.

SOCL462 approachable, high use of coursepak, BE THERE FOR LECTURES AND TAKE GOOD NOTES. PERIOD. Tries to be cool but is a huge dork, so it's funny :)He is approachable, kind, and helpful, clear on what requirements/expectations are. Definitely would take him again.
