He is the best film professor at Brooklyn College. Very passionate and talented. I feel like his class is the first one that I start learning "art" not just technical stuffs. He is not easy, but it helps you to develop and to be a better filmmaker. He allows us to retake exams or reshoot projects, which is very important if you care about grade!

He's a very interesting and fun professor. Unfortunately, lots of times it's hard to know what he wants out of you with projects and tests and this can seriously hurt your grades. I was lucky (A-). He tests us on the difficult readings but doesn't go over them. Also he's a little biased on how we direct. Overall he still led an enjoyable class.

Tutak is a challenging professor…and at the same time, I never learned anything from a professor who always agreed with me. As a film student, we need to learn to take critique at this level… if we can’t take it here…well then some of us do not want to be filmmakers. Tutak is extremely helpful and has helped me by making his off time available.

He is all over the place. he doesnt know what he is talking about and will misguide you. Clearly he is there for the discipline of taking the class. I would not trust what he says. there is no wrong way to film a scene other than following simle rules such as crossing the line of action. TUTAK IS GARBAGE and kills the film departments integrity.

Robert Tutak knows his stuff however he can be a prick at times and what's messed up about the curriculum at BK is that you have to cross his path you do not have a choice. If you run into him don't trust him just do your work and move on.
