don't bring your phone in the class. he gave me minus 100 point because he saw my phone, even though it was not the class time. it happened just a week ago before final, that's why i couldn't drop the class. but other things are fine. if you study the problems well, you'll get an easy b.

Lectures tended to be boring, but covered everything you needed to know in the class. Liked the students, and the students tended to like him, but make sure your phone is off before you show up

Leave your phones in your bag before class. Lectures dragged. Found a good # of test questions that were never explained in class. He doesn't use canvas which didn't help at all outside class. Very dull when replying emails. Textbook seemed useless because he never followed from it, besides review questions. Would recommend not to take.

He can be confusing but will teach you the basics to pass the class. He gives you the problems that will be on the test so you know what you need. Must have the book. As long as you do the not required homework in the book there is no problem to pass the class. 4 tests and cumulative final are only grades. Just make sure you do the work on your own

Asking questions was a pain and horrifying due to the fact that all answers were vague and points were most likely deducted from exams. This course was rather a reminder of basic algebra and arithmetic more than anything else. I would rather take those course online than take any class with him again. Save yourself the trouble!

Sadly this professor is the only one provided at the school. He grades tests only. His grading sucks as well. If you can, take another teacher

He is a horrible professor. He try to make things clear in class and tell us the wrong information. Which cause me a lot of points during the test. He doesn't care if you work hard. The worst professor I have ever had. During 2 weeks before the exam I spend about 3 hrs+ a day.( He is not clear about the subject) DO NOT TAKE HIM.

The teacher overall is ok. The material is tough to get, this is my second attempt at this class because i didnt get the material the first time through and failed. Not an easy class and do the exercises and make a study group or get a tutor to help, its a weed out class 100%

Leave your phone in the car. Loved this class!Prof Gilbert is very straight forward and tells you exactly what will be on the test. However it is not an easy class. You have to be prepared for the tests! Lowest grade a got on a test was an 89- study with a friend. You'll really like this class if you are a productive student.

The absolute worst professor I have ever had at Santa Fe. Take someone else for this class if you have to take it. I'd even take this class online before I would take it with this professor again.

This class is not easy. The only grades are tests, and the material is confusing. If you ask questions in class he will answer them, but good luck with office hours for extra help. Oh, dont pull your phone out in class either or a calculator that is more than 4 function.

Worst Teacher! He has issues with phone usage! If he even sees your phone in your pocket he'll take points off your exam or overall grade. He does not explain things well and he does not break it down. You have 5 exams and that is your only grade the whole semester. Very sarcastic. He expects you to just understand. I had to drop the class.

He is a very TOUGH pro. I'd learn a lot on my own. I spend almost 2 weeks (3 hrs a day) to prepare for the exam but I did not do well. I do understand the material, but in the test it was different than what we did in class. I'd withdraw the class after the 2nd exam since there are no curve or drop. 5 tests make up your grade. Good LUCK!

He is a really good teacher. Accounting will not be easy no matter what teacher you take. Study, turn your cell phone off, and come to class everyday and you'll be fine. Everything he teaches will be on the test. He tells you what will be on the test before as well. Dont expect to breeze through this class without putting in the effort though.

Ok teacher, he is thorough with the content but not very concise. The only grades in his class are the tests which account for a lot of stress but if you pay attention to the problems on the board you should be fine. His mantra is "Read the syllabus" so read the syllabus and don't miss any tests and you should be fine. C+ for Rom

It is a really hard class, esp since it is 2 classes in one. I would recommend him because he is nice and personable. The tests are exactly like the questions he tells you - straight forward. However, there is just so much info. Don't have you phone visible ever. Come to class. He will do examples what exactly whats on the test.

Very hard, demanding class. Out of 25 students, only 8 of us made it. Gilbert is an okay professor. He works out the problems on the board, and what he says it's going to be on the test, will be there -no tricks. Very strict phone policy. If it rings, you get an automatic F in the class. You can't ask questions during the test. I recommend though.

I loved MR. Gilbert! He's an awesome professor and I would recommend him 100%. As long as you study a hour or two a week you'll do fine. The only grades you have in the class are 5 tests though. So make sure you don't bomb any!

Do not take him, he doesn't teach, only works problems on the board, and has you do the rest. I had to drop and I wasn't the only one. Hopefully you won't make the same mistake I did.
