Comment:

This class was grueling in workload, but so enriching. I learned a ton. Prof. Dunn will give you multiple opportunities for extra credit, which is great because his tests are HARD. Don't pass up on the extra credit! It will help pull your grade up. Prof/ Dunn is very available; he answers his phone and emails promptly. Great teacher!

Comment:

I took the online course and it was tough! You definitely have to put in the time to read and take advantage of all of the study tools available. Though I did not reach out to him, Prof. Dunn is always offering to help if you need it. He responded quickly to student emails. He grades on a curve & offers extra credit work, which helps a lot!!

Comment:

Took 142 lecture during first half of summer, and lab during the second half. Zoology is a tough subject in general, so I expected to study. Went to the lab on campus for assignments & he was there to help. If you're taking it during summer, it is pretty intense.

Comment:

Extremely tough exams that'll instill fear to study late till the wee hours. This class requires you to invest heavily in your study time, and as a result you will need memorize entire chapters to get exceptional grades. And if you're stretched thin balancing 12 or more credits per semester I suggest students shop elsewhere for a Zoology course.

I feel like he is a great teacher. I think he gets a poor rating from people that don't realize that it isn't him that is hard, it is the subject matter. This stuff is hard no matter who you take it from. He always responded promptly to my emails and was always helpful.

No teaching at all. No online lectures, recorded lectures or notes. No study guides. You pay the school so you can teach yourself with a basic textbook which doesn't help much for the exams and quizzes. No other materials to prepare you for his tough exams.

Dr. Dunn is an excellent professor. His tests are in-depth, but if you use all the resources available to you, there shouldn't be a problem getting a decent grade. His tests are all curved and he offers lots of extra credit opportunities that are factored in at the end of the semester.

Took online class. Yes it is not an "easy A" , but to be fair Professor Dunn always has his doors open to help you one on one. It takes a lot of work, and you need to understand the concepts as best you can to pass the exams, but isn't that the whole point? Definitely need to allow yourself a lot of study time.

Do not take this class! He is a very tough teacher. Asked for help and was told everything is in the chapter. Study all the homework and test which had nothing that was on the homework , it was the total opposite. So in other words you need to know the whole chapter in order to pass the test. Everyone in his online is struggling!

Good professor, very helpful. Answers emails promptly. Is very thorough with information you must learn. Quizzes are easy because you can do them at home and have 1hr. Tests are very in depth and can be difficult.

Professor Dunn is great! I learned a lots from both lecture and lab classes. He offers a lots extra credits, his exams are hard. Beside with textbook, do google search, watch video on YouTube ...I know it take a lots of time but trust me, you will know more than other students in the easy classes.

Comment:

Dr. Dunn is great. It's online class, but he always replys to a student message quickly and he has his office hours everyday. He was helpful whenever I visited him. Some of exam questions were really difficult but there were also many basic questions and lots of extra credits. "A" is quite possible if you try.

I enjoyed Prof. Dunn's class. He offers "real world questions" for you to do as extra credit and a heart rate journal so you can apply what you're learning to the real world. His exams are a little tough so be sure you thoroughly understand everything. He does grade on a curve, however, which made the class extremely easy IMO.

He is a great instructor who really cared about his students. I must admit his lecture class was extremely hard. So I suggest putting in more than 6 hours to study. Exams were very difficult but he knows that so he grades on a curve, which I loved got an A in lecture. He also has many many extra credit available. Lab was easy A. Awesome teacher!

I took professor Dunn for 142 lecture and lab. His lecture class was hard but he knew that so his grading scale was curved. Lab class was amazing! for lab, study exactly what he says and its a easy grade. lecture, study hard and study long! again, lecture was curved so its based on the class knowledge. if anything, take his lab class, i loved it!

[Online] Highly knowledgeable about subject matter. Responds promptly. Recommended for independent learners. Exam content more difficult than 141, but straight-forward. Four 18 question exams and cumulative 50 question final. Quizzes time consuming. No real extra credit opportunities. Do all quizzes and know modules and figures inside and out.

You NEED to stay on track - a chapter a week, an exam every three, and a cumulative final at the end. Study guides are provided, so you know what to expect on each exam - no surprises. As usual with anatomy, it's the sheer number of things you need to memorize that will take all of your time. Stay on track, study hard, and you'll do well.
