Honestly an awesome teacher. But you do gotta show up for class - bottom line. She'll really go out of her way to help you if you ask for it. If you plan on taking math again in college I suggest starting with her she'll get you in a good routine. highly recommend.

I discourage enrolling in her class. She is very cocky; lets you know when you enter class. She's not the only one who writes for the school. She favors her students and it shows, she will answer their questions first. The homework is a bit too much for getting nothing in return and you will get penalized for it.

Excellent Teacher. Really good at math and knows what she is talking about. She is good at helping you understand the material in many ways. Anyone who says she is rude and not helpful is just lazy!!! you have to be willing to work,but that is what is expected in a college class.

These comments must be written by some of the young immature students I've seen here at COD. I'm an older student and mrs. messersmith was a wonderful teacher. There is alot of hw and she makes you come to class everyday but aren't we paying for a teacher who really cares and takes the time to collect our hw?

Simply put: Avoid. Uses a tone appropriate to teaching a group of children. Very discouraging in regards to poor performance. Divorces herself from class performance. Moves very quickly with little time for questions. Grades very harshly. Prohibits the use of all calculators under almost all circumstances in a calculus class. Avoid if possible.

VERY good math teacher. nice handwriting, teaches in a way all can understand. i learned a lot in this class. you should really do your homework, it helps to succeed on tests and quizzes which there are a lot of. if you want to learn the subject, take her.

HORRIBLE!!! She gives an INSANE amount of homework every single night. I spent 4 hours every single night doing math hw and if you don't do it she marks you down yet you don't GET points for doin the hw. She gives her students an evil eye when they are doin tests and it made me feel uncomfortable. Very rude and has OCD and she's very anal. AVOID HE

You have to pay attention through the lectures, highly reccomend doing hw, and cant miss class otherwise you'll fall behind. the pace of the class is fairly quick, the quiz/tests are pretty hard bc its either the problem is done correctly otherwise one mistake makes it all wrong. its possible to get throu the class, but u have to be commited.

Her test are close to impossible and her marking is worse. If you just wanna take this class to learn maths go ahead, but if you want good grade don't even think about taking her class
