Pethel is such a sweet man! He genuinely cares about his students and has a passion for music. Tests are easy if you make sure to study hard and pay attention in class. I hate music but Pethel made the class so much better with his sense of humor. Love him!

As a Music Ed major, Dr. Pethel was by far my favorite instructor at Berry. He was a great advisor and instructor. He is widely respected for his skills in composition and arranging. He made much of my time at Berry fun and I learned a great deal from him.

I had him for sight singing. He made it worth getting up for class each day. He is a funny guy but can sometimes be kind of serious. Just do what he says and you will have a smooth class.

World Music .. idk the call number.. but thats what i had... was fun.. thoguh at times got boring... videos we were shown got repetitive but when he talked it was interesting. Definately recommend.

I had Dr Pethel back in the 80s at Berry and really liked him. Not only is he a good teacher he is also a great performer. We used to call him Dr. Smooth for his smooth tones while playing the trombone
