a really nice guy, and a good teacher, he is always their if you need help, he keeps lectures interesting and fun makes you want to participate, one thing all tests are essay format which can be very hard

Comment:

Dr. Ward is easily my favorite professor that I've come in contact with at WCSU. Very smart and passionate about his field of expertise, and a sense of humor. This class, like any class with him, requires a lot of reading, multiple essay exams, and a long paper, which are difficult, but they do help with understanding and mastering the material.

Comment:

Lots of in class discussion which actually was pretty thought-provoking and interesting if you listened along. There were definitely some boring classes but overall it wasn't a bad class at all. Tests can be difficult but if you do all the reading you'll be fine.

Dr. Ward is a very nice guy. He definitely does not baby his students so if thats what you are looking for you have the wrong Professor. He expects you to read and participate during class discussions. Not doing this believe it or not has a huge effect on your grade. His tests are essay style and he looks for all the KEY points in ur responses.

This class was great! Overall, it was very easy but very informative. The end-of-semester project is a 17 page thesis, but if you pick a topic you're interested in, it's not bad! Dr. Ward is very intelligent, culturally knowledgable, and lets his students express their opinions openly. I really recommend this class for anyone: you won't regret it!

Very pompous and arrogant. He lets the students talk about their experiences and it goes off in a tangent. He lets everyone gossip and could care less about his students. Might be a interesting class if it was a different professor.

Ward is probably one of the best profesors at wcsu. Granted, the course can be b/c he expects you to challenge yourself to undrstnd the content and to do the best of your abilities. The ppl who complain of him being pompous, unhelpful, or say the class and discussions were boring, probably read the material rarely and did not try to undrstnd it.

Books mandatory, it may seem like you can get away w/not reading, but the tests are harder than you expect though he makes the discussions interesting&relevant. Attendance is technically not mandatory, but if you're absent too often it'll lower your grade and you'll miss information that's on the tests. Really nice guy, but not lenient

awful teacher. all he did was make us read a lot for hmwk and then talk about it in class. going to class was almost pointless because people would just go on and on about a subject. very very boring -i dreaded going to this class. he doesnt teach anything he just holds boring discussions and it was always the same few people talking in class too

I hated his class. Dreaded going to it every time. Rarely understood what he was talking about. I'm amazed I passed.
