I had Walter for 3 semesters for three different classes. His teaching style is unique, but as long as you pay attention you can pass. He's very smart and knows his stuff. Plus he's funny!

I was a non ID major so it was really a hard class for me. But I had loads of fun in his class. Walter's a great guy once you get to know him. His class is pretty hard but you dont mind he helps you out a lot and its always nice to harass him

This survey of art class was somewhat difficult. I passed it with a B even without the textbook, BUT you have to pay close attention to his lectures especially his reviews. He is very funny, witty and quite a sinister person.

Professor knows his art history and he is a talented artist. Very humorous person. His expectation is university level not high school level so remember that.You got to understand what to do to know what to do. This subject is art so you need to think in that respect.There is no doubt he knows his craft to the T. Great teacher; challenging work.

Make sure you rarely to never miss a class, because he will go on with or without you. Walter Takeda is known to insult students in his class, but is all in good fun. He also tells interesting stories about current/retired teachers at Chaminade. He can teach anybody to draw, He goes step by step for each drawing and is willing to help when needed.

Don't bother taking ART 103 if you have NO Drawing SKILLS whatsoever! It takes talent to be able to do what he expects..After long hours of drawing,,hmmm,,still get a B..sucks!

Takeda sucks as a teacher. His methods and instruction leaves much room for interpretation. His grading is terrible and subjective. The one thing I remember in his class is the childrens book he made that nobody wanted. Oh well, I guess this was his backup plan
