Lamm is horrible. He thinks he is God's little gift to the english language. If you have an opinion that differs from his own, he has no use for it. Driving a nail through the cornea is more appealing than attending his class.

I can't put into words how much I hated this class. He offers no guidance at all, so good luck doing anything right for him. The class is designed as a forum for English majors to get off by hearing the sound of their own voice. The readings are crappy, hopelessly obscure, and BORING! Avoid at all costs, unless the above stuff sounds good.

Criticises everyone quite harshly, even respected authors.This class had about 60 pgs of reading a class; Worst title selection I have seen.Grades papers harshly even if you go to him for help and try to do what he wants.I've never gotten grades this bad from any prof/AP class.Others remark:"only go if you're ok leaving feeling bad about yourself."

It's a really good class. As long as you keep up with the reading there is no reason to be worried. The only downside is that he gives short little quizzes, but they go with the reading. And he's a cutie!!

At first the class was a bit confusing, but it turned out to be a very good one. Prof Lamm is a very good teacher and is very understanding. If you try hard, as well as improve over the semester he rewards you for that. I would take him again.
