I had her for drawing 1 and she was one of the worst professors. She was hardly even in the classroom, she wasn't clear as to what she expected from us to make an A. If it's based on the amount of effort we put in, how would she know how to grade us if she was never in the room?

This class was mandatory (art appreciation) and she made it 100x more difficult than it needed to be. She read directly from the textbook and expected too much from students on tests. I almost fell asleep every class. This is the only class that kept me off of the deans list to put it in perspective.

She's a great person, but if you are looking for a blow off, TAKE MUSIC APPRECIATION. There were only 3 exams and a sketchbook grade. You'll have to go to 4 art museums by the end of the semester so be sure to do it early!

Do not take this class if you want a blow off class, tests can be difficult so STUDY. Try to make a study group and ask for help if you need it. Projects are not that hard but you have to apply yourself to get a good grade. She tries to get meaning out of the smallest things, but most assignments are never taken up. Easier with a background in art.

She gives you a review for the tests, but it's not nearly what is covered on the actual Test. There two portions, one side being vocab roughly like 20 questions, spelling it saying if its a noun etc. Then you have to identify like 8 artworks, what they're made from, what type of paint, time period, mood, etc. The other portion is like 60 questions.

This professor makes it very difficult when it comes to projects and tests, and it makes you lose interest in art. She expects too much out of you even if your not an art major. She was very unorganized with grades and never kept us updated with them. she left our class half the time and didn't come back until class was almost over.

She grades tests hard, but the artwork grades are easier. If you put in some decent effort, your grades will be great. Don't be afraid to explore new things, but don't turn in crappy work. You can fix problems after the critique. If you have a weak spot on the tests, make sure everything else is perfect & you'll pass. You will have to read the book

Overall, she's an effective teacher. In Art280 her goal is for us to become "culturally literate". I enjoyed her class and made A's on her exams but you do have to study like a normal college student. She likes to get the class to interact and form small discussions on pieces of art. Mostly, her class is powerpoint, which I was fine with(:

Her study guides did not correlate with her tests which are hard enough as it is. She goes through her lectures really fast which was rough for me because I am an audio/visual learner. When I did ask for her opinion on a project she was helpful. She is a nice and interesting person but I don't recommend her for a professor.

She is stern and will not put up with anything. She grades easy but if you miss your screwed and if your late your screwed. I would not retake her if I had the chance. She takes art way to serious for a state required class professor. I do not recommend taking her.

Honestly, this is not a hard class. She grades easy, even if you do your projects the day before. But make sure you attend every class and you are on time. I missed a take home test one day because she explained it at the start of class and I was two minutes late. This class can be an easy A for you.

we were in that class for two and a half hours, and she was in there for MAYBE thirty minutes a day! we could never find her if we had questions, and even if we could, she had no idea what was going on. she is not a good teacher and after that class, I couldn't be more uninterested in the subject...

She made 2-D Design seem like a middle school art class (...When we actually did projects. About 2/3 of the classes were only spent on critiquing other students' work.) Uninteresting assignments. Also, out of the 2.5 hours, she probably was in there for twenty minutes; It's a mystery where she went everyday. Also, an odd grading ethic. Not a fan.
