Professor was overall very good. Can get off topic very easily and it feels like the homework and class work can be very different. Also gets off track easily. Not a bad choice, but not the number 1 either. Great for any latin persons as he is very knowledgeable.

Professor Holzner is a fantastic professor, he explains the concepts and ideas presented in the textbook in a way thats easy to understand. His lectures are interesting and fun. He encourages students to share there opinions and is always willing to help outside of class. There is quite a bit of reading and writing but nothing to crazy.

This dude kind of sucks. That is, unless you want to be constantly bombarded with bias and partisan attacks. I'm sure he's well educated on his stuff, but everything he says comes across as an attack on the other side. Also, Professor Holzner is a Latin Studies specialist, meaning he doesn't know as much about the other countries, so have fun.

An excellent prof. Certainly one of the best I've had at the U. His class isn't easy but if you work hard you'll get an A because he is helpful and tests reflect readings, etc. I hope I can take another class from him before I graduate.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Every concept was explained in a way that made it very clear, and lectures were fairly interesting. Some assignments were beastly, but grading was forgiving. The hardest part was keeping up with the reading.

The most intellectually stimulating class I've taken at the U thus far. A genuinely brilliant professor; Claudio has a teaching style that keeps every class engaging and continuously piques your interest. I cannot recommend any class/professor more than this. Claudio doesn't merely teach you the material, but he teaches you how to think critically

He's probably one of my top 3 favourite professors I've ever had. I took comparative politics from him. It wasn't even an upper division class, and it was damn hard. If you do the readings, you'll be fine. You have to write a few paper & tests are essays. He's really smart and knows his stuff. He's fantastic, I recommend him. If you're not lazy.

attendance is not mandatory BUT, you really really need to go to class. take home tests (he calls them "quizzes" but they are worth 10% on your final grade each) are very hard. I learned a ton and would recommend him to my friends.

I really don't like political science, but I enjoyed his class. It was hard, but I knew what was expected of me. The class made me think and taught me how to think well. The last lecture in the class I was sitting on the edge of my seat, listening to every word. And he also cared enough to get to know the sixty students he had.

Hardest teacher I've ever had. Never actualy tells you what he's looking for. Nice guy, but incoherent class that floats around a subject, never making any conclusions (and then calls it "thinking"). Uh-huh. Unless you're really interested in the subject, or already have a PhD, don't take the class, it will bury you.
