Yes the class is boring and he does not do anything to change that, but he takes he subject very seriously. It is NOT a hard class to get an A in. Just take good notes and read the online material and it's an easy A. The only advice I would give is to take the section which meets twice a week because sittingthere for 100mins is torture.

class is not too bad...i might be one of the few, but i actually found his lecture semi interesting...coming to class is a must or at least getting good notes..his tests are not too bad, but some of the questions are very specific. so write things down exactly as he says it in class

You better be a good note taker. I would not use the tape recorder because it gives a false sense of security. If you have a question ask it, he doesn't bite. The subject is very interesting and he is a good teacher. Read the test questions very carefully because they are tricky. But it is do-able.

OMG such a BORING class....he'll put you to sleep!!! Get a "TAPE RECORDER" and try to write "EVERYTHING" he says because that'll help you alot, especially for the exams. If you take good notes then you wont have a problem with his exams. He says that he will drop the lowest exam grade, but highly doubt that he will.

The class is extremely boring,has 3 multiple choice exmas, out of which he drops the lowest grade(out of first two only!.Even the questions are multiple choice and some calculations, they almast always have two right answers out of which you have to pick the best suitable one!Grading is very unfair and must write down everything to remember details

Monotone, his tests are tricky (more than 1 answer that sounds correct). Doesn't curve. Apathetic to students. Maybe he's a good resercher or scientist but certailny NOT a good teacher. Aside from him I found the subject of evolution very interesting and not confusing.

Horrible. Franz isnt THAT bad as a person i guess and teaches ok, BUT there's no book so all notes. He blabers all day, you cant know whats usefull and what isnt. Going to class doesnt help, i went to almost all classes. Evolution shouldnt be harder than orgo or physics, but franz grills you and makes it like the bible, when its a b*llSh*t class.

this class is horrible!!!! i saved it for my last semester and just hoped that i would pass. i came to every single class and took notes and it didnbt help. we had ppl who have A+ in orgo form BC gettin 70s on his exams, Can you imagine how retarded the class is? The material was somewhat interesting but, he made it into crap.

I enjoyed this class. The first test was a bit harder than the second and the final but he drops 1 of the 1st two tests. Just write down everything he says and really listen. I did very well. I'm not sure why everyone thinks its so hard.

I had his class during the spring of 2004, and I do admit his exams are very tricky. However, if you pay attention to his lecture, you will be sure to do well. I went from a 65 % on his first exam to the 98 % on the second exam by just writing down everything he says and studying it after.
