A great, great professor. I've learned a lot in his class, although he is a hard grader. If you want to learn, I definitely recommend him if you want to learn, but he is in no way an "easy A". He is honest and his lectures are interesting.

One of my RU favorites! Don't believe the negative ratings. Mislan goes the extra mile for students that show some effort. He seems cold to the losers that don't go to class or would rather sit there and text. Knows his stuff and moves quickly, so yo u have to keep up. Take him if you love poli sci, don't take him if you're looking for an easy A.

Had him for int'l relations and found him to be a bore. I'm not one to fall asleep in class but he had me fighting to stay awake even in such an exciting subject. Subject is awesome, he's not. Exams are short but tricky and it's not that easy to get an A, but not impossible either. Scrutinizes the term paper a LOT. Wish i took IR with Rhodes =/

Attendance is mandatory but doesn't take attendance every day. Class lectures are very helpful, although he tries to be funny sometimes and sometimes students couldn't put in the effort to make a fake laugh. But, if you humor him, he'll humor you back. There's group work once in a while. Lots of essays and no quizzes.

Heis not the easiest of Professors, and his exams are worded weird and that makes them difficult. Thought he was a great guy in the first couple weeks but realized he is a rude no it all, he is a very unfair grader, and I do not suggest his class.

Great class! Highly recommended if you like political science. Great professor too. Attendance mandatory...go to class! Because occasionally he'll give you extra credit for it. Also, exams are based mostly off of lectures that he won't repeat. Case study is kind of hard, and he won't help you much with it. Exams are okay.

He is a good professor. Grade consists of three exams and a case study. Exams can be tricky the way he words the questions but overall not hard. The case study is hard, but he gives you about a months notice to prepare for it. FOr the case study, if he sees that you put in effort he will grade fair.

Extremely good teacher. He knows his stuff and is passionate about it. Not too difficult if you come to class and pay attention. The readings are a bit dry, but not mandatory. Anyone interested in Poly Sci should definately give him a look.

He knows his stuff, but the lectures are pretty much just him talking and trying to write down bits and pieces of what he says. Class is not extremely easy, does require attendance and reading. Class can be a bit boring if you're not into political science. Also makes references to what we should know from Intro IR, even though its not a prereq

Great Professor who really knows his stuff. Exams are kinda hard if you don't understand everything. Case study is hard because he makes it really hard to come up with a good topic. If you cheat, you die. It you get the chance its a great class take it.

Professor Mislan is one of the best at RU! If you get the chance- take his class! His reading material is interesting, his lectures are interesting and i learned a whole lot. It's absolutely worth your while to go to class: he drops hints and you'll learn a lot. I love him!

Mislan is interesting but exams are hard. The wording is confusing and you dont know what he wants plus theres no curve and a 10pg case study. But if youre into defense policy the material is interesting and he presents it decently. Its not as easy as everyone says tho. The average in my class is a C so its not just me.

Very easy class, just attending lectures will negate necessity of reading assigned text (it becomes apparent what text must be read). All/Most text is online, therefore free (also less to carry to class).

Very easy class, attending lectures will substitute for reading most of assigned text. Attending lectures is recommended as the professor makes the material very easy to understand, really 'dumbs down' the material for students. Professor is funny in a quirky way

Awesome class... if you are looking for a good class (especially with our country and how it is today) American Foreign Policy is the way to go...
