Heins was okay. Most of the stuff he goes over is in the textbook, but sometimes he explains stuff that's not covered in the textbook during lab, so don't miss the labs. Be sure to study the book and do the practice problems. Studying the book and doing the practice problems helps quite a bit.

Heins is alright. Don't miss labs, they are easy points that add up. Ask questions, he doesn't always describe things clearly the 1st time but he is really open to clarifying things. Go to class, there isn't attendance but he goes over some stuff that isn't in the book. Use the book!

Heins was decent. He was open for questions and concerns. Don't miss the labs, each one is 5 points but they add up.

Mr. Heins was decent. If you had questions he'd definitely answer them. We took a total of four tests, most of the questions were multiple choice but he usually put some math application problems at the end of the test. There aren't homework assignments, it's up to you how much you want to study. I used the book for practice problems only.

Excellent Teacher, likes what he does and has no problem helping you if you have issues with the material. Overall nice guy and very easy to approach. Tests were never incredibly difficult, only a few quizzes. Study, participate, and you will do fine. I would take another class from him again. Thanks Heins!

Alright. Let me start here. If you have NOT taken Chemistry at ALL in high school, you will do poorly in this class. This class requires you to learn from your textbook (basically, go home and review for 30 minutes a day about what you learned). I found it an interesting class but Heins cant teach. Hes taught it for too long to be helpful.

I think he was a difficult teacher to understand. He didn't explain the lay out of the class very well. You basically have to read the textbook to understand anything. He barely teaches, mostly just lectures. Boring. When you ask him questions it seems he takes it offensively and doesn't explain well. Wouldn't recommend him

I was really unhappy with this class. Don is semi-retired and it shows. I am doing well in the class but only because I self-taught myself out of the book. DO NOT take this class unless you like living with your textbook. He responded well to direct questions, but was pretty unclear and hurried everything at the end of the quarter.

This class was extremely boring, and wasn't taught well. When he wrote on the bored, he'd stand in front of it, and shortly erase after. No hw just talked entire class besides lab days. I ALWAYS get A's and B's and I got a C which is VERY frustrating.

Mr. Heins is a really good teacher. The class isn't hopping with energy, but it's still a really good class if you pay attention. He doesn't assign homework, but if you don't practice by yourself out of the textbook you won't do well. The tests are pretty hard, and there's no extra credit. still, if you are on top of it, you'll be fine.

Very dull class, though easy. I respect this man much, but his class puts me to sleep; find myself doing work from other classes. Overall, an easy class though.

I took his class a couple of years ago & wasn't a big fan. He's incredibly boring I personally had a hard time understanding the material. He's definitely a hard grader I worked really hard and ended up with a C I'm usually a A-B student. He really lacked in making any of the material interesting like a lot of other teachers do with boring topics.

He is a great teacher. Though if you dont have much modivation to stay awake you will sleep like a baby in his class. I worked my butt off and got a c+ so take this and know it is a hard class and will require a full 2 hr per night of work. Good luck, over all i would take this class again it just messed up my gpa ;(

Mr. Heins was a wonderful teacher. I would definitely recommend him for chem& 121. He's super nice and very patient. He'll be glad to help in labs (which are pretty easy btw) and will go over anything that needs clarification.

His lectures do tend to be boring, but if you want to succeed, you better pay attention. I highly recommend that you read the textbook on the chapters he teaches on because some lectures tends to be very fast. When preparing for the quiz, read the textbook and do the practice problems, and you'll pass with flying colors.
