Comment:
I loved Prof. Werner's class. When I wasn't sure what to do on an assignment, I would email him anytime and he would respond almost instantly. If you're having trouble in the class, he's happy to meet up with you outside of class to figure out how to help. He's a great mentor and a great human being. He's a little tougher, but it's worth it.

One of my favorite class. He is the nicest Prof. I have ever met. So kind and tolerant. I sent my papers very late but he evaluated them. I got an A and learn many things about the real world finance. Good lectures from guest speakers and covers many fields about Sustainability issues. It was such a good experience during my amazing journey at NYC

Overrated is the best description, his job is essentially to move everyone thru entry level finance. It has conveyor belt feel to it. Open book exams and pretty easy midterm what can I say. If he is he best Fordham has to offer then good luck with finance, he has not published ever in any journal.

If this is the best Fordham has then good luck. His finance class is paint by numbers with an open book exam. Frankly it is a farce given what I pay, he should retire.

Prof Werner teaches finance for dummies, he lectures on the basics and he seems tapped out at that level. Master of the introductory and brings it down to the Simon Says level. It would be nice if he challenged students and he himself actually did some finance research. His book is commonly referred to as Werner's Cookbook of Finance.

Great Professor. He will teach you basics and more advanced items. He does a great implementation of Excel into the finance subjects. All you got to do is to make sure you do your work. He is demanding, but hey, if you are paying your tuition, you do want your professors to be like that.

Very easy class, but you will learn a lot. His lectures are very insightful and easy to follow, and he incorporates current events which is very helpful. The exams are open book, open notes, open computer. Somehow people still fail the exams but if you do the problem sets beforehand (solutions are online) and bring it to the exam its an easy A.

Smart guy. Knows his stuff. Is NOT interested in helping students, however. Expects you to just get it. And if you ask him for supplemental materials (problem sets, etc.) he gives you nothing. Isn't it a prof's job to guide you vs. leave you hanging, then penalize you for not reading his/her mind?

Financial environment. Learning objectives are crystal clear. This professor is not afraid of putting on mini-skits to make the class more interesting. If you do not study, you will fail - exams are all math questions. Great class overall.

One of the best professors at Fordham (I waited to take him). He loves to teach, is very accessible outside the class, and he takes the dryness out of studying Finance. Tests are tough and are open book + open notes + anything else you want (just no internet), but if you do the homework and take good notes you'll do fine.

He opens the class each time with current subject matters of the markets. He truly want you to know finance and his approach is to assume you have no knowledge. He covers the the material clearly and the textbook is free which is a plus. The midterm and final are tricky but if you are prepared you will have not issues with the class

Assumes no prior financial experience and teaches everyone to the same level. Test are open everything (no internet) Textbook is PDF which you can search on laptop during exams. Try using excel to model the case problems at the end of each chapter for the tests.
