Comment:

Passionate/easy to follow lectures. Labs change every semester, but usually involve participating in active research happening at Chico, so cool! Labs aren't graded, just need to attend. Weekly assignments, 3 short papers, & one long final presentation. Exams are "choose your own destiny" style. He helped me get into grad school (I'm a woman).

Go to lecture to take in the information then look back at his notes that he posts on Bb & answer the "What you need to know" questions which have a general idea of lecture. His writing isn't the best so either try to interpret or ask what he wrote on the board. Book is used for supplement to lecture. 50 min is not enough time for his 5-6 pg tests.

Dr. Wolfe is a wonderful teacher, one of the best the bio dept has. He is very helpful and makes the material interesting and relateable. He clearly wants you to succeed in whatever path you have chosen. Don't be afraid to ask for help because he will practically bend over backwards to help you understand the material.

I had Dr. Wolfe for lab. He is a good lab prof. He tells you exactly what he expects, and how to do it. See him in office hours, he is very helpful. He's very nice and understanding. Stay on top of the labs, do them every week and you'll do well.

Very interesting guy. I thought he graded fairly on most of the work, although the tests were difficult. Offers cool field trips and doesn't require labs to be turned in, only asks that you be present to participate. Beware of the 30 minute powerpoint presentation!

Dr. Wolf was my professor in a couple of classes that I took. He is one of the best professors that I had a Chico State, and I am a woman. He has never been ****, and I find it offensive that someone would even state that because of their poor performance. I highly recommend taking a class from him, especially microbiology.

Dr. Wolfe is a good professor in that he knows his subject, the only bad thing about this class for me were his tests. I hate those tests. Every tests there were always a few questions that make you wonder if you went over this in lecture. This doesn't hinder my grade all that much, but it's just frustrating.

He is very knowledgeable about the subject. Stands true to the syllabus. Willing to answer any questions, or so he says. Boring lectures that are scattered and hard to study from. Get Edelmann for lab though, she's awesome.

I felt put down every time I walked in for being a girl. When I asked about a semester project , I was told we had a "stupid idea", even though I was reading the suggestion out of the book. Every lab our group did only received help when the boy were there (which was never). He LOST my homework!!!

Besides all the whiny nursing students who think the world will come to an end if they learn something they won't be tested on, and flip when the exams require more than spitting back the lecture notes verbatim, I really enjoyed the course. Dr. Wolfe is knowledgeable and enthusiastic about microbes!

this was my favorite class. he was always interesting and entertaining. he could not be any more clear on the material. he may jump around in the book but it is exactly as written in the syllabus. tests were not to difficult. some claim him to be hard but then some students dont read or attend class

This professor i think had good intentions for his students, but that only lasted the first two labs. He is a VERY hard grader on the two lab tests, and the note books, so make sure yours is more then PERFECT. He was good about his office hours for the most part. He also crams labs together...

He flips around what he is talking about and the class is sitting there lost in lab. He is very short with students and sometimes rude. If you have a question don't bother getting it answered because he just goes off on tangents. He is the reason that I almost wanted to transfer from this school!!
