Comment:
Her standards were clearly too high as she had never given anyone a 100% on ANY discussion post. This class is manageable with 1 discussion post (2 posts on diff days) and 1 quiz due every Saturday. Although her syllabus is messy and hard to follow, with effort and extra credit an A is definitely possible.

Rodgers clearly outlines EXACTLY what she wants from you in the syllabus. Despite this, people still manage to do poorly on assignments where she literally tells you what to do. Follow her instructions, read the book, study for the tests and you will pass without question. Total breeze, take her for an easy A.

Despite the effort, time and money I spent on this class, I am very disappointed in the instructor's response and lack of follow-up to my legitimate questions. Unless my grievances are resolved reasonably and fairly, with due process, I may bring legal action against the school.

Time consuming class. You must be on top of EVERYTHING. Her grading is very inconsistent and late. The discussion posts must be long and thorough. You really have to WORK for that A. You cannot miss a single assignment. You will be worried about your grade throughout the semester.

I highly recommend you take this class. Prof. Rodgers is great, and her in class lectures are very interesting/informative so dont miss any classes, always pay attention, and do the assigned reading/online quizzes. If you do this, you'll do well in class. Overall great teacher, very sweet and helpful and I wish I could take her class again :)

for it being an online class communication is really hard. She is not very clear in deciphering Anthropology terms. You must read the book very carefully. She is big on testing on diffrent triabal bands

This class is by far the most useless. I did not learn a thing. First of all, she does not know how to structure a online class. Second, she expects us to know everything and keep posting 3 times a week. She grades really harsh on your posts. If you don't have about a page including links from outside sources you'll get a bad grade. AVOID

I took her class. Stay far away. This class is based on 1000 points. There are required 6 postings a week worth 36 points altogether but very picky. be prepared to get a 12/36. Her tests are extremely hard. This is is the most time consuming class of all the online classes that I have taken in my life. You need to be fast paced if you are in this.

Online class - big time commitment, need to comment at least 3 times a week to 2 separate discussions, 3 tests, quizzes every week. Material is very interesting & amazing facts - you'll look at people/the world a different way at the end. Little communication with professor; easy A if you study, take tests & post to discussions on time every week.

I took her SUMMER ONLINE class. To give an idea:if you do not post online for 1 day,you lose 36 pts. You MUST post in 3-4 seperate forums on 3 seperate days. There are a total of 1092pts in the class;all other classes have no more than 600 If this is your 1st online class, you'll never want to take another one.Doable class,I did it with 9summer units.

I took a summer course in Cultural Anthro to satisfy a GE requirement. Very easy, all you have to do is read the book, take online quizzes, and post in online discussions. She also gives TONS of extra credit (it's possible to earn nearly 110% grade if you do all the work).

Online class- skip it. tests are written tricky, even if you've done the reading- hard to get a perfect score out of ten. format of the class is a little messy, directions for assignments are too wordy and long. I wish she could filter and get to the point. Takes a few weeks to respond to an email. Study guides are not available til last sec.

I have only taken Jo's online class. I was not very pleased with her because her communication with us was very random. We would email questions and we would have to wait several days if not a week before she responded. She gives plenty of homework - I don't have much time left for homework in my other classes. Know what you're getting into!

Ms. Rodgers is a GREAT Teacher. Quizzes were easy, but Mid-terms & Final were a "little" hard(for me). Do your reading, show up for class & participate, & you'll get an A or B. The reading was like 30 pages each chapter, but the reading was VERY interesting. Only the slackers complain. I WILL take another one of her classes cause she was GREAT

Took Cultural Anthro online over the summer...intensive reading and book can be a little dry at times, but there were a few pretty interesting parts. Tests could be a little tricky, but as long as you read and do the work, you should be fine.

I was forced into her class because Professor Kindon was full. She is terrible. She can't pronounce common anthropological terms correctly, which you would think she could do seeing it is her profession. Monotone and scatter brain. If you excell in these types of classes, go for it. Otherwise, take Kindon. He's a Antropology god compared to her.
