Very Fair Person. If you have to take calc take it with her. Failed it once before and passed it with her. funny in an awkward professor sorta way.

Comment:

This class was challenging without any background in calculus. She was unexpectedly funny and tried her best to get everyone to understand the material. Wouldn't recommend skipping class because she runs through the material very quickly and you will miss important things. Also did not make the final cumulative.

She was very rude and was contemplating not giving me credit because of a doctor's note! She is not very understanding. The class itself I found easy because I have background in calculus, however I would suggest finding a different professor.

She is a great professor who really cares about her students. Gave two group quizzes and also drops two lowest quiz scores and final is not cumulative. Her lectures are very important because she goes through a lot of examples. Just make sure to not go on your phone because she will call you out.

Awesome professor! She goes through tons of practice problems in class which is super helpful. She makes calculus seem like it's not so bad. She also drops your lowest two quiz grades and is a fair grader. She also gives partial credit on quizzes and exams which I've heard not all math professors do that.

This class is difficult, but she does her best to make sure her students are fully understanding the material. She uses a lot of examples when teaching which I found very helpful.

She does not speak fluent English which made it incredibly hard to learn with her. She over complicates the material, so you don't understand any of the things she's trying to teach us. She is a very nice lady though.

I personally liked her a lot as a teacher. She would go over a concept do a few problems and if time allowed let you do one or two. She didn't grade homework, but was willing to go over problems you had questions with before the test. If you show up and pay attention you should be fine!

She's a pretty average math teacher. She teaches the subject and lets you ask questions. She didn't let us do many in class examples but started to add more as semester went on. She told you what would be on the tests and gives you opportunities to get help. Also you get used to her accent pretty quick.

Honestly don't take her unless you know what you're doing in math. One of the harder professors I've ever had. Teaches something new once and doesn't go back over it. She overcomplicates almost everything. I personally thought she treated my class like we were dumb because we didn't understand everything right away.

Creative, takes different approaches to the same problem with the hopes of answering any questions you might have. She yells at people who have their phones out, pretty b.a. in my opinion. Not afraid to speak her mind. A lot of fun.

Comment:

Dr. Ganapathy was extremely helpful and she really sets up students to succeed. I told Calc 1 in high school as a CAPP class and was nervous about taking Calc 2 at UWO, but she is great. She gives about 7 quizzes but only counts your best 5 and 2 of them are group quizzes. If you dont understand a concept, GO TO OFFICE HOURS!

She sped through the course so if you don't understand any topic get ready to struggle mightily. Goes over new materiel once and expects you to be an expert on it. Assigns homework but doesn't grade it nor give a grade for it. Tests are super difficult. If you are not a physics major I would recommend avoiding.

She was so intimidating walking in as a freshman, and looking back, she was super helpful and always answered questions. She became a fun person to get help in office hours. She is super funny, especially when she asks to leave to go home in the beginning of class. Love her and hope I have the pleasure of having her again and with good markers! :)

Her class was difficult for me but she was always willing to help me during office hours which I went to pretty often. Going to class is a must if you want to do well but she explains things well and doesn't waste time.

The exams can be awful. This class has a ton packed into it! It can be hard to remember everything and keep up on the homework. She is phenomenal and is willing to help you. She posts review problems and only takes the highest 5 quiz scores. she posts grades in Excel and not on D2l. So, you have to calculate your own grade.

Dr. Ganapathy is an amazing calc professor. If you are good at math, this class is a complete breeze. If you're not the best at math, she does an amazing job laying out many examples and is always willing to help students when they are struggling. I highly recommend her!

Probably the best professor for Calc from what I've heard. She is completely serious when she says you need to come in with good algebra skills before the start of class, since she will not want to help you with those kinds of issues. Go to class, pay attention, and stay off your phone and you will do fine!
