Exams are pretty easy if you do the readings, a lot of people skip but as long as you sign in for attendance, you will get credit. Do the discussion forums and MLEs (she will not accept late work) and you should get an A.

A lot of the class is just watching movies. all the notes for the entire year are on one singular doc (as opposed to slideshows etc) which is kinda confusing. A lot of people skip her class but attendance is graded. it's a really easy class though, literally just show up and do the MLEs and you'll get an A

Sweet woman but not a good professor. The course materials and lectures are all over the place. Attendance is mandatory. The class is relatively easy but the disorganization makes it difficult to learn and stay on top of everything.

Can concur with another review that the class is a hot mess. Shes unprofessional, poorly organized, seemingly unprepared, and ignores the conservative perspective entirely - this is NOT an open minded woman like others have said. Avoid at all costs if you want to learn something substantial.

Prof Dumas is such a cute old woman. Shes really helpful during office hours and bumps your grade up two letter grades if you attend most classes. Exams come straight from notes and as long as you know how to complete sentences, you are fine.

Jo is very sweet and she means well. I would highly recommend taking her class if you want an easy A. She gives two exams, which as long as you look at the notes she gives you, it's an easy exam. She doesn't require a textbook because all her notes are online. There are discussion forums and multicultural assignments but those are easy as well.

She's the sweetest lady you'll ever meet. She's a bit scattered, but it doesn't effect the course difficulty. There are only 2 tests and if you read the review they are extremely easy. Make sure to do the discussion forums and the learning experiences, as they are easy 100s. Most of class is just light lectures, discussion, and lots of movies!

At first, I found her lectures are a little bit boring but then I change my mind. She's the most caring and open-minded professor I've ever met. She respect every student and really listen to you. She's not that strict with the due dates and that helped me survive from the writings. Exams are not easy and you need hours to prepare for them.

Jo Dumas really knows what she is saying and of her topics, but she goes on and on for a long time. Jo is probably the most free-spirited person you will ever meet. In class, students are on their computers and do as they please to pass the time. Jo posts notes and powerpoints on Canvas and allows students to ask questions about what to expect.

Jo is my favorite professor at PSU. I believe another reviewer said it best when they said she is "cute and crazy". She will often show up to class wearing a rainbow scarf and gets so passionate during lecture about what she's teaching. She obviously knows a lot about this subject and has decades of experience.

Jo is such a sweetheart. It's a typical 200 level course. Make sure you show up to class. There is a video everyday, and that is the majority of the material. Also, she takes attendance, so make sure you're there!

An easy class if you pay attention to when things are due and just study the study guide she puts out 1 week before the test. I never used the book because she makes up whatever she wants to put on the test. No structure to the class. Come to class and do work for other classes and then study for the test before.

She is clearly very passionate about the subject matter and the movies watched in class are very interesting and thought provoking. Having said that the class has no structure and it's really confusing when things are due. But she really just wants participation so not a hard class overall. Just annoying.

attendance is very key to this course. she is very nice but this class is SOOOO boring. the movies are oaky, and the exams suck because if you don't do great on them thats like the only grade you have. she offered extra credit once, and we had a final paper and discussion boards thats it.

This class was a hot mess. There's no textbook, she just puts 45 pages of notes online for the whole semester. I studied those and I did alright on the exams. All you do is watch films and she'll occasionally ramble about the readings she puts online that no one reads. That's why exams were so hard to study for. And the semester project sucks.

For a class like this, she's one of the best to have. The team project might seem like a heavy one, but not really once you get things going. Readings are on ANGEL for the most part, uses powerpoints for lectures and you'll watch some films. Plenty of chances to raise your grade in the class. Definately a should take.

Sweetest lady but most boring class ever. Watch a lot of good movies to help relate the material to real life but notes and powerpoints were really boring. Easy tests if you go to class. She takes attendance every day too with a sign-in sheet.
