Comment:

Prof. McAuley is a great teacher. He cares about his students and is always there to respond to your questions in and out of class. He allows retakes and on the final he allows a 1 page double-sided crib sheet. Highly recommended and will take him again if I get the chance!

He has a good sense of humor and cares his students. He respects students' background and culture and sometimes discusses the different culture. However, it is hard to get an A in his class since he is serious about grading. A small mistake in your paper will deduct the point. There is no better choice for engl 207, choose him.

By far the worse teacher I have ever had at Concordia. He just drones on and on reading the textbook (which is unclear not to mention expensive). He is also a very hard marker. It's almost impossible to get an A and the class average is just above a failing. He should be avoided at all costs.

His assignments are pretty straightforward but he doesn't give out A's and takes out marks for the littlest of things. I did not really learn much and he's the only option for this class so it sucks. Lectures are boring, he assigns exercise pages and then goes over them in class. Sporadic lectures here and there. Cheat sheet for the final.

He is a nice teacher, assignments seem easy but no one gets a super grade, no one A, so u dont know what they really want.... they just dont give A for this course, dissaponting, hard marking yes, one tiny mistake u lose .5... but there are not other options for this course...

Thought he was a great teacher. He didn't wander, he presented historical context to English grammar use. Each class was interesting, whereas grammar could be hell. Not a bird course but if you listen in class you'll get a decent grade (B or higher). Only four assignments plus a final with a crib sheet.

Awesome teacher! Attend the class (to show interest) and go to the office hours, read the txts and voila! He IS very picky with assignments but if you go see him before handing the final draft he'll gladly go over it with you.

He's the worst teacher I've ever had, and he's making me hate school and English. Why? He rambles, doesn't share his marking criteria, favors women, goes off topic a 100 times a class, doesn't like to be bothered during office hours and often cancels them. He's a wealth of English knowledge, but he's a sloppy teacher--avoid or pay the price

He's confusing and disorganized. His notes are barely legible. He knows his stuff, and he's kind of funny. But as far as his grammar class goes, he wonders all over the place, substitutes one term for another at will, and is extremely confusing.

He is a very helpful professor who knows his stuff and is very accommodating.He makes course content interesting and easy for the class and if the marks are low he tries his best to give as many make up assg as possible. I would definitely recommend him!You really do learn your stuff! One of the best teachers at concordia...

I'm in his grammar class and it's really difficult material to begin with, but he makes it bearable. He really knows his stuff, and he knows it's boring so he tries to keep us all entertained. I find him hilarious and really personable. Definitely what you'll need if you have to suffer through 214.

If you pay attention, he can make you laugh as he makes very dry subject matter pretty funny and entertaining. (not everyone catches on.)He informs his students in the beginning of the semester that he does not expect anyone to be an expert and it is alright to make mistakes. He is not intimidating or rude at all!

The three-toed sloth (of teachers), though not nearly as bright or benign. Delights in making the simplest ideas difficult to sound knowledgeable. His grading is entirely arbitrary. It's all smoke & mirrors, folks. Avoid this one like the plague.

He is not too clear on what he wants on his assignments. Although I believe he is a nice teacher, he is definitely a hard marker, don't expect A's in his class (never happened), be grateful for B's. Though approachable, but not that helpful.

I found him to be very interesting to listen to, but not helpful when it comes to improving. He definetly appreciated class participation, but didn't promote extra help during office hours (even though he must have realized that people needed it). A good teacher, but difficult marker.
