Comment:

Sets the bar very high but doesn't encourage students. Feedback is generally negative. Previous understanding of acting is sort of necessary to truly understand her approach to teaching the subject. Fails to focus on building fundamental habits (i.e. good diction, projection, etc.). It's important to do the work and show up for a good grade.

She has you do ridiculous things that have nothing to do with acting. Half the class dropped after one assignment where we had to crawl on the floor for 20 minutes acting like 20 different animals, expressing 20 different words (which weren't verbs). Her lectures are long-winded, boring, and usually pointless. Acting isn't the focus of the class.

I took her online class and really enjoyed this material. I attended four plays wrote a paper, did a final paper. There are weekly quizzes from the chapter, but if you read the material it's easy because it's open book. I would recommend this class to anyone.

She is one of my favorite teachers! I took her online class and she is so helpful. There is a weekly quiz and discussion, one VC play analysis, a video play analysis (that you watch in LRC), a midterm and final which are fun and pretty easy. I learned a lot about the theatre, had fun and it was a pretty easy class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO EVERYONE!!!

I took this internet class last semester. You have weekly multiple choice quizzes, and I attended 4 plays. There were a total of 7 essays; 4 were critiques for the plays, one was the midterm and one for the final. One extra for a video in the library. Great class and would recommend Judy Garey to anyone. I took it for my fine arts requirement.

I took her online class and found it to be informative, yet easy. 1 hr per week for reading the chapter and taking the weekly quiz, and 5 short papers, a final and midterm. The work load is pretty light and her grading is pretty generous. Highly recomend her class!!!!!

Judy is the best. I took her acting class and was a lil hesitant to do much in the begining but in the end that all changed. She gave me the confidence and skills i needed to further my acting career. I loved her class...it changed me for life, and i'm not kidding!!!oh yeah attendence is VERY mandatory!

Great proff. wants students to learn and enjoy what they have learned. Her class will change your perspective and open your mind, she makes you think! With her teaching you will never blindly watch a play, you will ask yourself questions, which gives you a deeper understanding of the play, and makes it more enjoyable. Take her class!

good teacher. she's nice and only gets annoyed if you keep slacking off. she asigns fun projects like posters and such. she also has you watch a lot of interesting movies and documentaries on theatre. you must see and write about at least one VC play while you are in the class and there is a final and a couple practice quizzes here and there.

Judy's the best!!! A great teacher and a fabulous director!!! Her acting class requires you to participate, But none the less your always having fun. Her class was my favorite last semster because everyday something new was in store and it was such a comfortable class to be in!! I highly recommend taking one of her classes!!!!
