She is an amazing professor. Please do not believe any of the horrible things Emersonians have to say, they are so self-righteous and feel no need to expand their horizons. Just because you are not willing to put an effort in the class, doesn't mean it's a nightmare. I took it as a summer course, and it was amazing.

In case you haven't already heard, she is a real bad professor. Just not very intelligent, it's difficult to learn from someone with their head in the clouds all the time.

I've always hated science, hence why I've come to Emerson. ALL teachers, including Michele know this about Emersonians. However, she loves to make your life miserable during this class. Her newest addition is the case study. I'm pretty sure I'm not a pre-med student. And she grades EXTREMELY harsh. WATCH OUT. You'll thank me.

I loved science before this class, I was even considering minoring. However, after this course Emerson gave me no reason to take any other science courses. Her lectures are boring and her labs are unnecessary. She comes off arrogant and her classes were very unpleasant.

She's nice enough, but overall the whole experience isn't worth caring about. The assignments are mediocre, the reading is unimportant. Just answer all the objectives the day before tests and you'll be fine. She's fairly relaxed about attendance, which is nice.

I honestly don't know if I can feel more ambivalent about Michelle. She's not bad, she's not great, you'll manage to survive the semester in all likelihood.

probably the most disrespectful prof. i've had in 3 1/2 years. she speaks over people, not inclined to listen to differing opinions... i'm sure she means well, but i mostly gather that she's just bitter about teaching science at emerson.

I took this in the summer and the work load was way more than expected. She is knowledgeable and tries to make science interesting to people who have no interest in science. this class covered many current topics and I learned alot. Her exams are tough and she is a hard grader. Be prepared with MANY examples. when she says give two, you need to giv

There is a high work load, the labs are boring and a nuisance, and studying for the tests is a MUST. But there are a couple of projects in the syllabus that if you work really hard on they can boost up your grade. Michelle is one of the most qualified professors at Emerson with a Phd and extensive experience in her scientific field.

My grandfather passed away two weeks b4 school ended, so I had to miss school. Mrs Goldsmith made me take a quiz the same day I returned. She also made me turn in a 7 page paper and take 2 make up exams the same day, one which I didn't know about until 1 hour b4. She reads straight from slides as if we as college students can not read. Her quizzes

Unless youre a science minor, this class will just be a nuisance. She gives a damn big workload for a class nobody wants to be in. Each student is forced to debate a topic chosen by the professor infront of the class, something they may not believe in or care about. Bassically, avoid this class like the plague.

I don't care what anyone else says. She's nice, she's smart, she's not hard, and she's not a preachy hippie. Just do the papers, study her slides for the exams, and talk a little in class and you're golden. She knows what she's talking about and she does respect your opinion even when it's different unlike the Earth Emerson kids.

You either love her or hate her, and I won't decide that for you. She's nice enough, to be sure, and she has a real passion for her subject, but most of the class is fairly dull and reminiscent of high school biology. It's easy enough to de decent in her class, though.

She was an incredibly boring teacher. I'd taken env. science in high school and loved it, but she sucks the fun out of an important subject. She won't return your e-mails and won't know your name. She teaches this class just to pay the bills.

Michelle Goldsmith is not a good teacher. Take Nutrition and Human Health with Joanne Keaveney if you want or need to take a science class. Biology is NOT the hardest thing there is to learn, I've taken Bio classes before... but somehow Michelle has a way of making it so damn confusing!!! Beware!

Michelle's class is NOT fun. This class is just like a typical boring high school science course. Lots of terms to memorize, lots of stuff to cram into your head only to be forgotten right after the exams. The trip to Tufts to check out the cadavers was awesome but the rest of the class was a tough price to pay to do it.

The class turned out to be pretty boring. I feel like all we do is busy work, but its probably the most structured class I'm currently taking. However, Michele is often unavailable and unhelpful if you want to talk with her about your grade. She rarely emails back.

Despite her inhability to work Emerson's in class computer system and her penchant for irratability, Prof. Goldsmith presents material clearly and is always willing to answer questions that you have. Just be on time and accept the fact her classes are science classes, are somewhat challenging, and you will have to put some effort into them to pass!
