AWFUL CLASS. The lego robot material she provided in the first class for us was always malfunctioning and she hardly helped at all with this. This class also requires your class partner's participation, if they don't show up for quizzes, expect to do it yourself since she wouldn't give me a replacement partner. She was dull and uninspiring. F+

She is the best professor for cis1115, it is a very hard class with very difficult concepts, but she really cares and addresses all questions of her students no matter how long it takes, I had failed the class previously with another professor and chose to take her, she is very clear,ask questions if you dont understand she will definitely explain

Honestly she makes programming fun, she is the best prof for intro to java. I love the way she teaches, she teaches tracing and how to write code. Her assignments are always fun to do! I highly reccomend taking her you will not be disappointed

The prof is nice & cares about her students, but that doesnt mean she can teach well -She writes her programs on the chalkboard (personally find this annoying because she constantly goes back to fix things) -Her voice is monotoned, you'll end up zoning out 70% of the class -You'll prob need the optional textbook to self-learn everything

It's a tough topic so difficulty isn't her fault. She teaches it as well as it can be taught. My only issue was the departmental final which lowered my overall grade. Be prepared for lots of homework.

Comment:

Pr. Ettinger is the best professor for Introduction to Java, especially if you are a CS major. She writes the code on a chalkboard and makes sure everyone in class understands. Her assignments have very clear instructions. Do not miss her review sessions for exams, because they help a lot! Her office hours are also valuable.

i hate this class personally bc shes so boring, and doesn't even explain. everything we do is basically on our own, and she gets bi*chy when you ask for help. her stupid robot program is wack, and we basically do the same thing over and over. her quizzes/ exams are hard.

She is probably the best teacher they offer for CISC 1115. She actually thinks out the problems with her students and does it together with them. Unlike other professors that use powerpoints, she teaches using a chalkboard which I found helpful. 2 exams, final, 7 Program Assignments, and Codelab. I wish I could take every class with her. Best Prof.

Intro C++. One of the best professors at Brooklyn College. Very clear, helpful, and patient. Lenient grader on assignment and exams. She will help when you are stuck but will encourage you think of solutions by yourself.

Very clear and helpful professor. Group lab assessment or a individual test every other class so attendance is mandatory. Also be prepared to pay attention to every single word she says. There were many occasions where things that weren't on the slides, that she mentioned in one sentence ended up on the test and on the final. Pay attention!

She is such a sweet helpful person. One of Brooklyn's College finest she is certainly the best professor at her 'Alma marta'. Ms Ettinger tries her best to explain every aspect of this course in full detail. She gives like 5 projects and 4 exams, which are not hard at all. All you have to do is pay attention in class and follow instructions.

Nice Lady! A little wierd, wastes time in class by taking attendance and then saying that she doesnt count attendance in the overall grade. Also, somewhat unfair in grading. A person who deserves atleast a A- would get a B.
