Comment:

She speeds through lectures so it's helpful to take notes beforehand. Nothing but praise on the assignments but also never gives anything higher than a 95. Do your best on the projects/hw and an A should be possible. She is very understanding and kind and actually cancelled our final, instead giving us more time to work on our last hw.

This class does not contribute to anyone's cybersecurity knowledge. Dr. Brouse knows that seniors are constantly working on senior projects but still assigns assignments that are considered "busy" work. She does not provide adequate feedback on assignments, and other assignments that she requires you to finish are not even graded. Must Avoid!!

Comment:

CYSE 491 is a senior level class that supposed to be writing intensive class, however this class is one of the biggest scams i had to take(worst than 205, 325). Also she gives no 100s when she's gradin, which is annoying. She makes you conduct a pointless survey on your peers on how cyse can do better but she can do this herself! Please remove 491!

Comment:

Every week there's a group presentation based on the ones she assigns you at the beginning, so you better hope to god your group is amazing or you'll end up doing all the work. She's very late when it comes to grading stuff and submitting it on blackboard. Her exams are okay, but you need to study very hard and memorize some of the diagrams.

This was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. Brouse is a kind-hearted, smart person. It's a straight forward class you don't even need to show up. All you have to do is make sure you submit your presentations and show up to present it. TURN IN ALL YOUR HW easiest grade. Midterm was word to word from the lecture slides. easy A class

The class was easy although a bit dull. The lecture slides were filled with copious amounts of info. She is a really interesting lady and super friendly but the slides and the amount of work tended towards the cumbersome side of things

Really basic and straightforward class. All you need to do is go during presentation days. Don't go on lecture days because she uploads the slides and you can use those for making the presentations with your group. Groups are pre-decided, so you're stuck with whoever you get. Do good on written essays/homework to make up for low presentation grades

Comment:

Peggy Brouse is an excellent administrator, but a very, very poor professor. Her lectures are dry and somewhat rambly, and she reads directly from the incredibly dense slides far too quickly. The group presentations seem to have a maximum possible score of 90%, with no group that I know being awarded anything higher than a 95% on any assignment.

When I first saw her I thought she was gonna be mean, but she's actually really nice. She cancled the last two presentations we had left while the other classes still had to do it which was a sice. Her lectures are also a little interesting sometimes. As long as you turn in the assignments and give good presetntations an A or B is easily achievable

Most of the class was group presentations and death by power point. The tests were somewhat difficult and required some keyword memorization to pass.

She is mediocre at best. Her feedback is not good and grades are completely random. It seems like the grades she gives depend on if she likes you or not. Do not buy the book, she didn't even mention it.

Each week consists of a dry lecture and then student group presentations of the material for that week. Each lecture is a lot of information and she basically reads from the slides. Despite that, it's a good idea to take the course with her because she is the director for the major and that way she gets to know you more as a student and a person.

Excellent professor! She will keep you engaged and teach through her experiences. I'm taking my 3rd class with her this fall (syst 571). Highly recommend her as she's one of the best systems professors GMU has to offer. Just do the work and listen and you'll do great and learn a lot.

Prof. Brosue knows how to teach well. Good command of English and the tone of her voice during lecturing enable me,a foreign student,to understand the materials. She uses slides but explains important stuff. Prof. Brouse is an all-around experienced professor who's able to guide you in various projects.
