Please dont take her Her online lectures are so boring ! Like SO boring She doesnt encourage students to participate She boringly and dreadfully reads from the boring slides . Shes also disrespectful/ offensive in the comments she makes, so dont be afraid to respond accordingly Also, she doesnt give enough time on the exams AVoid

She only gives you 45 minutes for a midterm and it's 43 questions. She grades you on three tests and a project that's it. She is not accessible after class

She speaks with a low voice. Come to class late every period, less caring. If u failed the test, you need to see her, she'll tell if you can't understand the question, you should be asking. But when I took the second test and ask her, she said she had explained everything inclass already, and told you should not be asking. NO REMECOMMENNT!!!

Comment:

Although Prof Shapiro is very nice, her lectures which pretty much consist of reading verbatim off the the PP slides. The lectures are unimaginative and frankly boring. It's not hard class but I would have appreciated a more engaging style of teaching. Although she tries and means well but I can't honestly say I'd recommend taking her.

Boring! Boring! She is a snooze fest. There are tricky tests and you need to read the textbook inside out, it's a joke. Avoid. It was not my choice to take her, Brooklyn college treats their incoming freshman like trash and places them anywhere so unfortunately I ended up with her!

Do not take her class. I have her for 1100 and she is so boring. No one pays attention nor stays awake. Her tests make little sense and have little to do with what she "teaches." She simply reads off the slides, however, those slides correlate to what she teaches. Do not buy the textbook. Waste of money because you will not use it.

If you pay attention and read her slides you will do good. She takes all of her info off of her slides all you need to do is take those slides and study them and you'll get good scores on her tests, no HW but there are only 4 tests so you have to do good on those. and she curves.

I regretted taking 1100 with her. Her test are a bit tricky. I dont recall her assigning homework everyday. She curved the two test we took before the final because everyone did poorly. If u can take another professor for this class. Please do

Unclear about topics on tests; will tell you to study certain chapters and have the test be completely different. Boring class to take at 8am, you will fall asleep. Demands that you read the textbook but barely asks about it. Do not take.

Good professor. Easy lectures you learn a lot of interesting information. She gives huge curves on midterms but not the final. Read the chapters and take notes. Study from textbook and notes, you should do well. She's a nice professor.

I took her class this semester fall 2017. I avoided her for the longest time because everyone was saying how hard she was. I did not use the book about once. The only thing I did to study for exams was read her PowerPoints. I was absent about 10 times. Didnt even study for the final and got a B. Come on people...

An okay professor. Her slides aren't made by her but copied from McGrawHill and she reads off them. You might as well teach yourself during your free time since the PowerPoints are online. Her tests are totally different from her lectures. Made a study guide from the textbook given and the slides but the tests and PowerPoints aren't related.

I'm taking this professor now and she's actually not bad at all. She gives articles to read and each class is basically a discussion of the articles, so it's good to read them. So far I've gotten great scores on assignments. But if you're not a good writer I see how this class can be hard. She is helpful though so just ask for help or get tutor

She is nice but a very boring professor. She makes the tests very different then what she emphasizes in her lectures. It would be much easier to do well if her tests complied with the what the course is about.

She is good, she explains if you ask her any topic you did not understand. She likes when students read articles she gave for homework and discuss in class. If you want to hear her sit in first not in the end in the class cause she talks not loud.

So boring I wouldn't take her again. From the way she talks to her teaching skills so not worth it. Try taking someone who's interesting. The class is supposed to be exciting but she made me want to skip class.
