Comment:

I had Randy Brown for my PHP course. The course material wasn't extremely difficult, but the final project was pretty rough, but it paid off in the end. After completing the final project, I had a very strong grasp on all the content in the text and more. But due to slackers, the final project shouldn't be a group effort. Excellent IT professor.

Hes not the best teacher i have ever had, but he is a good teacher. he helped me when i had problems, but they were technical problems, not really in depth questions. maybe something has changed with Mr. Brown? i hope so. i have to take a few more of his classes. i do think he treats his older students a bit different than the younger ones though.

Took his online class and was a breeze. He gave no test, only projects for web design using javascript. Homework wa easy, final was cake. If you have questions on subject matter or not he helps and responded to my emails within 24 hours.

Comment:

Teaches like someone with tenure. There is an arrogance that most adjunct professors can have. There was also an unwillingness to bend the schedule/syllabus when he cancelled class or it was called due to weather. Very disappointing overall.

I learned more in this class than any other web related class at Sinclair. The material was clear and due dates were clear. The class was taught without a textbook to show the advantages of web resources and how to apply things in real life applications. I use the information from this class in my internship everyday.

I think the people complaining about him are people who would rather have their work done for them. He is a great professor who makes a subject easy to learn. He provides great real world experience and uses much class time just for assisting students with problems.

So I am not the only one that thinks this teacher is awful. I have never encountered a teacher as unfair and rude. I begged for help and he refused. I thought this was what being a teacher was about.I would have loved to finished my degree at SCC but he is the only one teaching the classes I need so I will never get that degree. SCC needs to wakeup

At Sinclair he is easily the best computer science teacher. He is very clear and I picked up quite of bit of knowledge each class I went to with him. If you are getting into web developement seek out his classes!

He makes in-classroom courses as web classes & won't put it in writing when assignments are due except for the date, expects it at 9am on the day that it is due even if class in the p.m., & will not work with you. You're screwed if that's the only day after the discussion to do the work. If I wanted an internet class I would have signed up 4 it.

He doesn't help you over internet classes, takes forever to e-mail you back. When asked if you can have an on campus meeting he brushes you off to the help desk, ad they aren't able to help half the time. He sucks as a teacher.

BEST TEACHER if you want to learn the subject! God forbid a Prof. expect you to work in a class and learn the subject. If you take the notes and pay attention in class you will do fine. THIS IS COLLEGE PEOPLE, NOT PRE-SCHOOL. Great notes, great knowledge, challenging work. He makes it clear when he wants a certain thing. I WILL TAKE HIM AGAIN!!! A+

I was scared to take Prof. Brown after reading the reviews here. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall he was an easy teacher. He was funny. He told you what he expected of you. He was helpful when you needed it. He understood if things came up in life.

I'll say this for him: he's thorough. He won't let you get away with anything, so you learn a lot. That being said, his assignments aren't always clear, he assigns loads of homework, and he doesn't always post assignments on time. Allow a lot of time for this class and go beyond the course requirements if you want an A.
