He jokes around a lot which makes the class entertaining and he is also a very nice person. If you just do the work that he has assigned, you will get an A. I definitely recommend this professor!

Comment:

Although he isn't very clear what he expects with each assignment, he's an easy grader. He doesn't grade you on how "good or bad" you did on your work, he just wants you to know the information. He's really understanding and will help you in any way possible. He truly does just want to educate you and guide you. Such a sweet man.

Dr. Hargrove is very confusing I will admit. He is a very good teacher though, and I would definitely take his class again. It is an easy class to pass as long as you keep up with your work. He is an older man so I would not recommend online classes, he doesn't really know how to work a computer.

He gives really hard work. I just had to do a three page textbook assignment. 11 questions, each question had to be five paragraphs. It's just too much, especially when you have other classes you're taking. He doesn't give you enough time to finish it. He gets off topic. He's very nice but has a very difficult way of teaching.

Possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. The workload was not hard, but attempting to find what to do for the assignment was the hardest part. I have never had as much trouble figuring out what a teacher was asking for than from this teacher.

This course was taken online with Blackboard and was extremely hard to follow. Blackboard was so cluttered and unorganized. The class itself was not hard but had A LOT of writing. Which I hated. I am an A student and i received a B NOT HAPPY. I would not recommend this class at all.

I agree with the others who described his online class as unorganized and confusing. He was a fair grader though and did extend some sympathy to us who were struggling with the assignments, but I still would not recommend taking this online. His good intentions were overshadowed by the chaotic clutter of assignments.

I think of the absent minded professor when I think of Mr. Hargrove. He asks for one thing but then when you do it swears he wanted something completely different. He also kept giving us work from his english class because he was so dis-organised. Oh yeah and the old blah blah blah my computer is down. Come on! Blah blah blah email is down. Again?

Very unorganized. Doesn't give detail instructions, you constantly have to e-mail him to make sure you're doing things right. i took his online class and we had a group project so me and my group had to meet up. too much work for an online class. you have to turn in 3 drafts before the final- didn't like that either.

Before I came to this class, I hated english with a passion, and was horrible at it. Now I am getting good grades, am learning a ton of things that I didnt know before, and am having tons of fun doing it. :)

Seemed nice enough but impossible to understand instructions and does not actually "teach" you anything about writing. He would constantly change requirements and assignments and rambles in 'online' lectures for 5 pages when anything helpful & instructions are in 1 paragraph. Take him if you want an exercise in frustration!

took his english 111 class online for fall08 . he can be really confusing when explaining stuff but he's a really easy teacher . eassy topics are very simple . not too much work @ all . i'd recommend him but like i said - confusing when explaining assignments .

Dr. H is a good teacher who really cares about his students.He's not by the book which added a little something special to the course.His teaching method is not necessarily what I expected but his method works.I mean it really forces you to think as an individuel.
