I paid 1k for him to read PPTs for me for 4 months! Moreover, he just assumed ppl who does not answer the questions in the way he does as academic fraud. Just avoid him, please. Only 5 to 10 people came to his lectures and it seems like he doesn't understand why LMAO. His PPTs all together can be longer than the textbook.

He just stands there trying to read the endless power point presentations. He expets you to memorize all so that he can make the exams amazingly hard. Well, some professors aren't meant to be teachers. You can be a good a good prof but the worse teacher. Avoid taking this class waste of time

Comment:

He's nice and although he speaks a bit quietly, he does have a bit of a sense of humour. The lectures are boring, but he tells you exactly what you need to know for the tests. Find a classmate to attend lectures and take notes on, e.g. tuesdays, and you could attend lectures the other days. You'll gain 90 minutes back a week

Professor is extremely helpful during the class hours. He even helps you during his office hours with the doubts. He shows great professionalism in helping the students. Helps students understand the course material well. Best course to be taken in the 'E' category. During the class hours, he adds that extra pinch of humor that interests students.

Took this as my last CSI course at uOttawa, prof was extremely helpful and worked with me outside class hours. I didn't attend many lectures due to working full time and he still helped me understand the material in office hours.

The professor is willing to help students. So try to contact him as often as possible. However, the course itself is hard. You have to use your compass and ruler to solve problems such as RNG and GG problems and those problems are vague. Also, there are things to memorize. If you are not good at memorizing, please refrain from taking this course.

tbh he really is a very nice person. helpful during his office hours and actually wants you to succeed. my class didn't have many students, so it was easy to communicate with him and he genuinely cared about us. he will help you if you show up to the lectures and follow his lecture slides and you will receive a good grade. highly recommend :)

Although the course was hard and had to read a lot. But being a graduate student you should be ready to challenge yourself, not to put blame on large course content and professors teaching pattern. For networking people course is basic and easy to understand, but if you are doing it for credits you should at least use your graduate brains logically

Comment:

Wireless and Ad Hoc Networking course taught by Prof. Amiya Nayak was one of the toughest courses I ever had. The course content is so large and on top of it, there are way number of protocols which really confuse you. And Prof. was adamant of the way in which he has solved the solution and wont consider any other alternate solution while marking.
