Comment:

She'll make you think that you need to work hard at first but I really don't think she cares about the quality of the content you put out, more that you understand how to do what she's asking. She is extremely flexible and very knowledgable in certain areas. I would take her courses whenever you can.

Comment:

Most CARING professor at SCC! My first experience with Anna wasn't as good but this class changed my mind. She truly cares about everyone and will do everything to make you feel comfortable and make sure you are on the right track. When she's there, she's always ready to help anyone. She's very funny to and inspiring at times. Take her for sound!

I had to take this class, I'm almost done at the school but needed it to pass. She's a really nice teacher, but doesn't actually teach a whole lot. It's more, ok here's a project, now go do it. I think her big issue is she seems to not understand cameras or AVID but they need a teacher. She's a sound teacher.

Anna makes everyone do a presentation where they show a youtube video of their choice to the class and talk about the editing; wasn't even for points. Very disappointed in how this class was organized because didn't learn anything. The block kept going downhill. You just sit in this class and watch youtube videos. Pointless. I wanted to learn.

Worst class I ever took in film! I thought we would learn something but no you don't. I learned nothing new in this class, Anna doesn't teach. If you don't know how to edit in avid, good luck. Nice person but seems to not care about her students. All you do is watch youtube videos in this class. That's all.

I had Anna for my TCM 136 class and she was fantastic. She definitely won't give you an easy A but will in fact make you work for it. She is extremely knowledgeable and all of her class assignments and examples relate perfectly to the course. She truly cares about her class and your success.

Anna was very absent when we were in the lab, but was always very helpful when we were in the classroom and gave lots of feedback on our projects. She doesn't baby her class and will not tolerate goofing off or disrespect. Some might find her strict and unhelpful, but my experience with her was good.

Yeah she will delegate to the lab techs and disappear for a few minutes at a time but not before explaining the lesson in detail and leaving you with a 75 page pdf on how to do it. She's a department head, she's got other stuff to deal with.

Avoid at all costs. Biggest problem is that she's a department head. If she decides she doesn't like you because of something you might have said or done in her class (or from what I saw, for no reason at all), you're messed up for the rest of the program. Take anyone else for required classes.

My advice is to take an avid course because you take the block class, because you honestly won't get any help from this professor. The entire course she would just unlock the lab, and sit in her office for four hours and sometimes be no where to be found. She also has very harsh opinions, but gives you no helpful feedback on how to fix it.

Ana provided very little helpful feedback on any projects that I had, and I Felt at times that I was a 'favorite' but as such didn't get any helpful criticism when it came to my projects. She has certain people she likes, and certain people she doesn't like, and if she doesn't like you, be warned.
