Cathy Rand is the crown jewel of The Boston Conservatory. She is so specific, passionate, inspiring, and any student would be lucky to study with her. She is professional, stays out of other professors and students drama, and proves to be one of the most excellent professors in her field. She is hilarious and intelligent beyond belief.

Cathy is a phenomenal musician, which scared most students. She is EXTREMELY passionate about what she does and simply wishes everyone else were too. She does not put up with slackers (as she shouldn't) but if you work hard, she will grow you. She's very sweet and caring, once you get to know her. One of the few people on my side at BoCo.

Cathy is 1 of the most passionate profs at BoCo. She's truly brilliant & demands a level of performance from students that many profs don't approach. Her attn to details of a song's construction & performance are exactly what make a performer breathtaking, not good. Sure, she's not an easy A, but why are you paying 30k+ to have your ego stroked?

While no one can argue that she is incredibly talented, she consistently made you feel as if you didn't deserve to be in her presence. If she liked you you were golden, if not she made your life miserable. Not worth the $28,000 I spent not to mention all the therapy I needed after I graduated. She gave me nightmares for years. Not worth it.
