Comment:
Professor Donahue is exceptionally smart and a very kind man. Class was entertaining after I realized not to take him seriously. It's very hard to understand him in a group, but he's great one on one. Get someone's outline from a past year and Gilberts to study. I didn't think the exam was that unreasonable, but it is long.

Comment:
Textbook is useless. We ended up teaching ourselves using Gilbert's. The final made everyone cry because it was needlessly abstruse. It tested endurance for tedium more than Property. If you know Property before taking the class, then it may be interesting to get Donahue's novel views. But if you don't already know property, you're screwed.

Comment:
I would read all of the hornbooks and outlines to understand the material only to come to class and have Donahue tear up my comprehension of everything I thought I had learned on my owned. He makes the subject 1000X more complicated than it needs to be, and he doesn't make any sense when he talks.

Comment:
He has an encyclopedic knowledge of property law, but this sometimes results in a glut of information at the expense of clarity. His exam (at least my year) was completely unlike anything we had ever discussed in class, and traumatized everyone I know who took it, but it must have been incredibly curved as a result.

Comment:
He's brilliant - he knows everything there is to know about the subject. However, he's not very good at teaching his students property law clearly. And his exam might make you cry.

Teaches too smart for his students. You will do poorly on the exam, but strangely, you end up knowing a lot about Property.
