Mrs. Rothgery is an excellent instructor. Her job is to make sure we are prepared for the real world. She may be hard on the students, demands attendance and respect. But this is also required when we get a good job and want to keep it. The surg tech program wasn't easy, but it also made me ready for a career.

This Teacher knows her stuff so u have to study to earn her respect. She just do not tolerate talking & goofing off. She has control of her class. Externship will be harder, so she is preparing u. If I will be responsible for saving a life, I dont want a teacher who dont have time for games.

STAY AWAY!!!! Yes she loves surgery, but this lady well make you feel so dumb in front of the class. Makes the program much harder than what it needs to be. I dropped the program and now attend another college but in the same program I'm doing great went from c's to A's all because now I found teachers that dont get a kick out of making you look li

Mrs. Rothgery, Hmm lets just say you will need to study you handouts and read the book. She does have a true passion for surgery. She has no tolerance for Jack assery with that being said study and participate and you'll do fine The hardest part is clinical assignments you can go far out so have a reliable car. the toughest part is get'n a job

I must say I highly disagree with the negative comments on here. I was in the SURG program until this 09 term, for medical reasons. She is honest to the core and is very willing to help if she's asked, always be honest with her, she's a fabulous person, as well as instructor.

She trys to make the class harder than it should be. i passed with a B, but the lady is nuts. she gives you these things she calls quizes but they are more like exams. please do not take her if you dont have to.

A good enough teacher, she knows her stuff, BUT, if she doesn't like you, look out. Sometimes I wonder if people with such a short fuse should be teaching.At times she made me feel so stupid. I withdrew from the program, a blessing in disguise. I am now at a different university in a field I really love.

She makes you feel stupid because you don't know everything (like she does...*cough*). If you did bad on a test, it MUST be because you "didn't want to do good" or didn't study. I hated being in her class because she just goes out of her way to make you feel dumb.

Ms. Rothgery is a fantastic teacher. HFCC is lucky to have her. You definitely know she has a great joy not only in teaching but surgery itself. I am currently in the program and know that I will go far. She cares about her students.
