Giulia Centineo is a wonderful professor. The accelerated Italian program is really challenging and passes by very quickly, but if you put a ton of effort in and show her you're trying, she works with you as much as she can to help you succeed. I would love to take more classes with her!

She really cares about her students and it shows. As with any language, you get as much out of it as you put in. If you go to office hours, she is super nice and helpful. Take notes during lectures. Make sure to do textbook readings.

Giulia is an excellent professor and she really gets you interested in the material and excited about learning Italian. Her Sicilian accent is adorable and she likes students who keep up with the work and have a positive attitude, even if you struggle with speaking. I've recommended her to all my friends!

She was very hard and went too fast. There was at least 1 test a week, sometimes 2. The class starts off great, but she starts falling behind and speeds up to a pace that's extremely hard to keep up with if you have other hard classes. She really cared about her students though. Take it pass/no pass if you have the chance.

Giulia= the most amazing and inspiring teacher, ever. She has an amazing character and teaches Italian so efficiently. Her sense of humor is astounding, and she has made me feel prepared for studying abroad a whole year in Italy with all my classes being taught in Italian. Giulia Centineo is my FAVORITE teacher at UCSC. Not only does she efficiently teach a very difficult language, but she does so through humor, ridiculous videos/songs, and many other tricks. Yes, she will assign homework and yes, attendance is key to get an A but it's all worth it because Giulia is a great teacher and you will learn Italiano!

Would not recommend her for Italian film. It is barely a film class and more of an overly intensive history class. She is a very hard teacher, assigns a lot of work and is very stuck in her ways. She has very strong opinions and if you have different views you are screwed. She does not really like people who disagree with what she believes..
