Comment:
He's the head of P-Chem lab, and he leads the lab lectures. However, TA's lead the actual experiments. We had a good group of Ta's giving generous scores for labs (except for a certain TA). 12 LONG lab reports and a formal report was it. Got a put a lot of work into the lab class, but if you keep up, an A is possible; I proved that to be true.

This is probably one of the hardest and most time-consuming undergrad classes you can take in college, but Prof. Cline is good at explaining the concepts and providing numerous resources (helpful test & problem set reviews/office hours) that will allow you to be successful in the end. Recommended!

Comment:
PChem is a terrible subject but professor Cline does about as much as possible to help you learn. His lectures are pure derivations, but if you pay attention and read the book you'll see the derivations truly help to learn it. Cline is super helpful in office hours as well. You get a cheat sheet and he curves huge

P-Chem is a horrendous subject, and it's hard to enjoy it. Sadly, Cline doesn't make it interesting either. The proofs on the homework are near impossible. His exams are crazy difficult, but he curves like crazy. 50% is a C. Just study hard, and get your cheat sheets in check. Stay cautious.

If the average on every test is a 60%, I would cite a failing of the professor to convey the learning expectations. The students are willing to learn the information (with an average of 15 weekly study hours), and are capable of doing so (most understand advanced math and basic chemistry), but students still average only 50-60%. Very hard course.

This was the hardest class I have taken in my college career and it didn't help that the professor was a complete theorist. He's all about showing derivations of the equations needed to do homework and test but he never does examples that use real numbers. His "examples" are always still in theoretical terms. Curves massively because he has to.

You have to go to class and you have to read the book. He is a good teacher, just there is so much to chemistry, you can't get it all in a 50 minute couse. He is very nice and helpful when you go in and talk to him.

Chemistry has never been so painful. Favorite phrases: "When I worked it out on MY calculator, I got..." and "Let's do a quick gut check." Has no sense of humor to speak of. Gives examples that he can't elaborate upon whatsoever. I'm s
