I attended NEC way back when. I didn't like that place very much, but not because of John Heiss. The 20th century music history course I had with him was outstanding, and yes, it got me into Charles Ives! The previous reviewer was absolutely right. By the way, among his many accomplishments is a degree in mathematics. That fact I find intriguing.
