Dr. Kay is the best instructor I have ever had. He made the subject so interesting that the class was easy. He required a lot of reading and attendance was a must, but it was all worth it to experience a class taught by Dr. Kay. I took 2 classed from Dr. Kay in 1967 and 1968. I still remember how much I enjoyed learning from Dr. Kay

Dr Kay is without hesitation, the BEST professor I have ever had in my life. After SBCC I went to USC for a business degree and afterwards law school at Stanford, and he is still, the BEST professor I've ever had. I still remember his lectures, he is the most engaging, thoughtful and inspirational and caring professors you'd be lucky to have known

I studied abroad with Dr. Kay in 2011 and he really turned things around for me. I don't want to get too personal but he helped me get through some tough times while simultaneously acting as a mentor, professor, and friend. He helped me realize my full potential. Thank you Dr. Kay.

Before I took political science with Dr. Kay, I was not interested in political science at all. Although it may be embarassing, I did not know the difference between a democrat and a republican. After taking this class I enjoy politics, and instead of reading Cosmopolitians I am reading newsweeks....Who'd a thunk!

Wonderful teacher!! ive never had a professor like him. he really is passionate about what he teaches and actually cares for his students! his lectures are alway interesting and if youre like me (dont know much about poli sci) this is a great start off. he explains everything so well! very enthusiastic! he gives study guides which are VERY helpful

this class is somewhat of a challege; it's definitely not an easy A. If you read, study notes, and pay attention to the lectures, you should do fine. Dr Kay's an awesome teacher and obviously loves what he does. He made the class very interesting for me and was quite hilarious.

If you are an insomniac, take this class and you'll be cured. Professor Kay is the most long-winded professor who tries to impose his own personal political views on the rest of his class and often asks questions of his students to feel out their political views. Overall a horrible professor. Lectures were unorganized and lacked structure.

Kay makes it easy for students. Great cool professor and intellectual. Appreciate it while it is still easy. Visit him for office hours. Just remember him as one of my fav. teachers at CC, absolutely have to take this class in order to get introduced to politics. While he is current in news, his methods are old. He is scattered in his ideas and teaches his 101 class like it were upper division with need for analysis on topics that should be realitively easy but are hard to dicipher through his words. He assumes everyone knows the topic whe he's teaching it newly to the class. The study guide helped little.

He is a good teacher, he is very clear in what he talks about. Although, on the tests he does seem to grade pretty hard. He will give an essay Question and expect you to write every single thing we ever learned in class about it. He doesnt give points for knowing, he subtracts points for not knowing. make sense?

I had Kay for 101 and loved him so much I did the study abroad with him. He is an AMAZING teacher that loves what he does and will make you love it too, even if you're not that into politics! If you ever have any questions or problems don't be afraid to go to his office, he's so nice and understanding he'll help if he can, but remember to study.

A Very inteligent man with a lot to offer to any student. He challenges you as a student but its only for your benifit. But, he is not understanding at all. Even if you have some problems in your life he remains very stern. OVERALL: Great teacher and great class BUT no understaing at all...

A very good teacher with a lot of humour. He might seem strict at times but that only helps to keep the class in order. If you are taking political science, choose this guy because he knows what he is talking about and are really helpful if you are in trouble and need to improve your skills.
