Obviously Anatomy isnt as easy as other subjects. it does require a lot of memorization and studying. this is not a last minute studying class and i realized that the hard way. she's amazing, she answers all your questions and her exams are based on her study guides which she does provide. if your serious about the health field, take her.

The class was hard no doubt about it but I felt that Professor Roy did an excellent job explaining and demonstrating the subject. Anatomy is hard and requires 100% effert on the students end. Lots of memorization required and yes her tests are hard not all mutiple choice there is ALOT of written. I could have done WAAAAYYYY...my fault.

Do not take her class! You basically have to read the textbook and memorize it. Lectures were not clear enough. Some questions on the HW were not even in the book. Half of the class dropped by the end of the semester.

Very knowledgeable teacher and good. However, she is very difficult. Lots of Trick type questions on the Lab, some answers couldn't be found in the book. Lecture is speedy hard to follow, over crowded. Pace was extremely fast. heard another class would b on ch 3 and we're on 6... not enough time to learn as is... Just hard class generally

A few things to mention: 1 Form study groups 2 Go to lab as often 3 STUDY;her class is very hard 3 She gives a lot of e.c, but tests are difficult (critical thinking) 4 Her lectures not very organized, so I learned mostly on my own from book, my computer,and lab partners. Regarding the previous posting! Do not blame Prof. Roy! She tells you from day 1 that this class is a lot of work and if you can't commit to it then don't take it. You need to study, study, study, go to the lab and have a study group. I am not an "A" student and I am doing fine. It's a tough class and there is no way to sugarcoat it!

PLEASE READ! I WOULD HAVE APPRECIATED THIS INFO IF IT WERE GIVEN TO ME. I will not sugarcoat. Roy is a VERY difficult teacher. She teaches based on what SHE ALREADY KNOWS and doesn't take the time to explain things in detail. Everything is rushed and all over the place. I am normally a A-student but had to drop her course based on how she taught.

ok so at first she seems cool, she can teach Anatomy great. granted Anatomy isn't easy but damn her test are hard, she tells you to go by what's in the "bible" but tends to have things on the exam she never mentioned, nor is it in the "bible" and tells us that the E.C will make up for it. so it's even. take her if you are willing to fry your brain.

a really good teacher. enjoyed her class to the fullest. she is very good at explaing things with her crazy imagination. gets really exited when she explians some stuff. go by the sudy guide she gives and study the homeworks and u will do good on the exams. gives extera credit like no other teacher i know.

I had Ms. Roy for the lab portion of bio 3. You know, a lot of kids thought she was mean, but thats because those kids were disrupting her class. She is great, explains everything, helps the students. Wants you to succeed,DONT MISS CLASS. You have a quiz (easy)once a week ( 10 m.c). If you miss, thats a loss of 20 points. Pay attention, you'll pass

This was such a great class. Anatomy requires a lot of memorizing but Prof. Roy makes it so easy...One of the best teachers in this school hands down. She spoiled us greatly with the lab manual and all her extra credit.

I BECAME A SCIENCE MAJOR IN 2003, ALL ALONG I HAVE BEEN IN THE LEGAL FIELD SO WHEN I WAS TO TAKE ANATOMY I CLOSED MY EARS TO COMMENTS FROM STUDENTS AND PICKED A CLASS BASE ON MY SCHEDULE. This was the toughest class I had to take before I got into Nursing school. It was a lot of work. However, Roy is the best instructor to take for Anatomy because she knows it inside out. She is the best teacher I have had at LAVC. Very organized and clear. Anatomy is a hard subject, lots to memorize and it takes a long time to learn it all, but KR does everything in her power to make it easier for you. NOTE: you need to put in the time to do well in this class.

Great teacher, I passed, and i'm not the brightest in the bunch... not that it was easy, it was a hard subject, but she was clear, and gave lots of extra credit!... partner up with study groups if possible, lots of memorization, lots of homework!!... points add up quick so dont miss homeworks or quizzes!!

Anatomy is not an easy class, but she is an exellent teacher. She is very clear and precise. I enjoyed the class very much, and she makes the class so interesting. Be ready to read a lot and do homework. Make sure to read the text. Just remember any Anatomy class is going to be work, but I can't think of a better instructor.

karen roy is an outstanding teacher! very fair, gives lots of chances, extremely helpful and absolutly amazing. i highly recomend her. a difficult class turned pleasent in prof. roy's classroom.
